Today was a wonderful day, and as we wind up, allow me to talk a little about my President

Allow me to tell you, Kenyans, why I vouch for H.E. Edwin Sifuna and why I chose his political camp.

I’ll only mention three qualities, for today, that I believe make him a great leader!

1. COURAGE.
And when I say courage, I don’t mean the courage to stand before a multitude and deliver a speech. I mean the courage to literally stand between bullets and the people. I mean speaking up when the truth demands it, even when it is uncomfortable.

2. ACCOUNTABILITY.
I have watched many politicians speak when blunders happen, when lives are lost and property is destroyed. But very few will stand up and say, “As leaders, we failed you. We are sorry.”
To me, admitting when you have gotten something wrong is not weakness. It is leadership. And Edwin Sifuna embodies that.

3. HUMILITY.
He has never pretended to know everything. He will tell you, “I am not an economist. I am not this, I am not that.” And honestly, there is nothing more dangerous than a leader who thinks they know it all.

Great leaders know how to listen, delegate and bring experts to the table. And what I have heard Sifuna consistently say is that one thing remains non-negotiable: constitutionalism, the rule of law and doing what is right within the confines of our Constitution.

Those are some of the reasons I chose this camp. Not because I believe my President is perfect, but because I believe in the kind of leadership he represents.
