Whilst patrolling along N1 North in Midrand #JMPD officers spotted a motorist driving a White Land Cruiser recklessly on the highway. The officers stopped the vehicle & inspected it. The vehicle was partially stripped, and they also realised that the number plate & disc were not matching. The vehicle was tested on Enatis & the results were positive (stolen) as per the Midlands case. The driver alluded that he was rewarded R3000 to drop off the vehicle from Diepkloof to Pretoria by another male. The suspect was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle & detained in Midrand SAPS.

⚡ Germany brings back conscription: mandatory screening for all 18-year-olds and a draft lottery if volunteers fall short

The ruling SPD–CDU/CSU coalition has agreed that:
🔵 all 18-year-old men must undergo a medical examination;
🔵 if there aren’t enough volunteers, a draft lottery will determine who serves in the Bundeswehr;
🔵 women will also receive a questionnaire to assess their potential readiness to serve.

Germany aims to expand the military to 260,000 active troops and 200,000 reservists. Service lasts six months, with half of that time dedicated to basic training.

Volunteers will receive around €2,600 per month, and those who sign contracts longer than one year will get “short-term contract soldier” status with pay equivalent to professional troops.
