I will be speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team this week to discuss Starshield, sanctions, and other matters pertaining to the defense of our strong ally, Ukraine. 🙏 Ukraine and Russia are close to reaching an agreement on evacuating civilians from Russian-occupied Oleshky

Ukraine’s Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets said the two sides are finalizing the details of a ceasefire arrangement and the safe evacuation of civilians to Ukrainian-controlled territory.

The situation in Oleshky has become a humanitarian catastrophe. Food deliveries have reportedly been cut off since May, leaving residents facing starvation, severe shortages of medicine, and no reliable access to electricity or running water.

Some people are surviving on just one meal a day, eating weeds and whatever food they can find. Those trying to escape face mined roads and the constant threat of drone attacks.

The proposed evacuation would cover Oleshky and six neighboring settlements, where an estimated 6,000 civilians, including up to 200 children, may still remain.

“We have made as much progress as possible,” Lubinets said, expressing hope that the outcome of the negotiations would become clear soon.

Russia is expanding its war into space.
