I’m sorry y’all, but as a real, true, authentic New Yorker…
I just can’t get with this Mamdani grift.
One year you’re naming Tom Thibodeau when asked to name a current Knick.
The next year you’re giving a Knicks championship speech like you’ve been living and breathing Knicks basketball your entire life.
And to be fair, it was a good speech.
He’s a talented speaker.
He’s a great orator.
But that’s exactly why I’m skeptical.
Because the most effective politicians know how to make themselves feel familiar.
They learn what people care about. They learn the language. They learn the culture.
And then they wrap themselves in it.
Maybe I’m wrong.
Maybe Zohran Mamdani has been the biggest Knicks fan in New York this entire time.
But as a real, true, authentic New Yorker, something about this doesn’t feel organic to me.
It feels manufactured. It feels calculated. It feels like branding.
Watch the clips and judge for yourself.
@LakieHaskins@Chicago1Ray@SenSchumer Based on your take, none of them ever drove a car, took a flight, rented or brought property, worked, went to a Dr - SOMEHOW functioned w/no ID? My G-Gma lived over 100, born on a farm. Small Town VA births were listed in county a registry.
