#SuicidePrevention#MentalHealthMatters
💔 I’m a mum trying to turn the pain of losing my beautiful son to suicide into something positive.
I’ve been sharing my story for some time to raise awareness of mental health and suicide prevention in memory of my son Christopher’s who took his own life in June 26 , hoping that by speaking out, I might help someone else who is struggling.
While I’m grateful for the kindness and support I’ve received, some comments have been deeply hurtful, including people asking me to provide proof of my son’s death. As a grieving mum, this is incredibly painful.
Through my role in the NHS, I see every day how important mental health is. I’m simply trying to raise awareness, support others and honour my son’s memory.
❤️ My message is simple: PLEASE TALK, PLEASE LISTEN, PLEASE REACH OUT.
If you’re struggling, please don’t suffer in silence. Tell someone you trust, speak to your GP or reach out for professional support. If someone you know seems to be struggling, check in on them, listen without judgement and take them seriously. A conversation, a little kindness or helping someone find support could make a life-saving difference.
Suicide prevention is everyone’s responsibility. We may not always see someone’s pain, so let’s make sure nobody feels they have to face it alone. Please share and support

Tragic loss of Christopher at Wiley's Hall Spout Ilkley on June 23, 2026
On 23rd June 2026, I lost my son Christopher to suicide at Wiley's Hall Spout Ilkley
There are no words to describe the pain of losing a child in such circumstances. It is something I never imagined | would have to face, and it has changed my life forever.
I would also like to say a thank you to everyone on here who supported me, particularly Dawn O'Brien, and Rock Wade who helped me locate the area where Christopher was found.
I have now set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for charities supporting people affected by mental health difficulties and suicide. I want something positive to come from this.
I have to be honest — I used to question why people set up GoFundMe pages. But when you experience something as heartbreaking and life-changing as this you realise you will do anything you can to turn that pain into something that might help others.
Many thanks

I shared this earlier on I do done with people
I’m posting this because I am absolutely FURIOUS at some of the disgusting responses I have received regarding my campaign.
For those of you who know me, particularly Lisa Wainwright Pemberton you will know that I lost my son, Christopher, to suicide in June this year. No parent should ever have to experience the pain of losing their child, and the grief is something I will carry for the rest of my life.
Out of the most devastating experience imaginable, I decided I wanted to do something positive in Christopher’s memory. I know how much he struggled with his mental health, and I wanted to turn my pain into something meaningful by raising money to support mental health and suicide prevention.
I am new to GoFundMe campaigns. Yes, I have questioned fundraising pages myself in the past.
But the response from some people has been nothing short of DISGUSTING. People who choose to hide behind a keyboard to spew their hate
Being accused of running a scam, having people question my intentions and actually being asked to provide PROOF that my own son has died is beyond anything I could ever have imagined. Let that sink in for a moment. I HAVE LOST MY SON TO SUICIDE, and some people think it is acceptable to demand proof of his death as though I owe strangers an explanation for his death.
Whatever happened to kindness? Whatever happened to thinking before you speak? If you don’t want to donate, then DON’T. Nobody is forcing you to contribute. Scroll past and get on with your life. But to attack a grieving mother who is trying to make a difference is beyond cruel.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DONATE, BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO CRUELLY JUDGE ME OR QUESTION MY SON’S DEATH.
Thankfully, amongst all this ugliness, there are still some truly beautiful people in the world.
I want to give the biggest, most heartfelt thank you to Lisa Wainwright Pemberton, who has been my absolute rock. You have stood by me, defended me against the keyboard warriors and supported me through the darkest time of my life. You were also the lady who held my hand at Christopher’s inquest, and I will never forget that.
When you are at your lowest, you discover who genuinely cares and who is prepared to stand beside you when you need them most. Lisa, you have shown me exactly what true friendship looks like, and I will be forever grateful for you.
As for my campaign, I will NOT be driven away by cruel people or keyboard warriors. I am doing this for Christopher, and I will continue to do so because mental health matters, suicide prevention matters, and saving lives matters.
Behind every suicide statistic is a real person, a family and a lifetime of memories. I know that pain only too well.
So, if my campaign can help even one person get the support they desperately need, then every bit of effort will be worth it.
Thanks for reading
Although progress is slow I remain hopeful, if they is someone out there who can help me with this campaign I would be more than grateful, no scammers please https://t.co/ZlMPaXmTDW

❤️ A MESSAGE TO ALL MY FOLLOWERS ❤️
Hi everyone, especially all my new followers. I would be so grateful if you could share my campaign to help support people affected by mental health difficulties.
In June this year, I tragically lost my son Christopher to suicide. 💔 Since then, raising awareness and supporting others has become a passion of mine.
Mental health deserves to be taken just as seriously as physical health. People need to be heard, supported and prioritised. More needs to be done.
Although I cannot change what happened to my son, I hope that by raising awareness and funds, I can help make a difference to others in his memory.
🙏 Please donate if you can, or simply share my campaign. Every little bit helps.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
