Yesterday, our Executive Director attended a training organized by @IdiwaNgo on promoting the participation of PWDs in the world of work.
The training emphasized identifying our rights, embracing our abilities, and using the I CAN model to promote inclusion.
Economic empowerment begins with knowledge of one’s rights and the skills to create opportunities.
IDIWA has equipped young persons with disabilities in Iganga and Mayuge, including women engaged in the informalsector, with knowledge of labour rights, advocacy and entrepreneurship to strengthen their pathways to decent work and self-employment.

💚 It's a Suicide Prevention month October 2026
Let’s listen with compassion, offer support without judgment, and remind one another that no one has to face difficult moments alone. Every life matters. Every person deserves hope and care.
#SuicidePrevention#MentalHealthMatters
You don't have to be productive every minute of the day. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your mental health is to pause, breathe, and give yourself time to recharge.
Behind every young person is a story that deserves compassion, not judgment.
By creating safe spaces where young people can speak openly about emotional distress, seek help, and feel understood, we can strengthen hope, encourage help-seeking, and support suicide prevention.
1st African Regional Summit on Suicide Prevention 2026.
Young people are reminding the importance of listening to them and stop dismissing their pain.
#MentalHealthMatters
Absolutely! The stories we tell ourselves can either limit us or empower us. That’s why we need to be mindful of our inner dialogue, challenge negative beliefs, and remind ourselves that our past does not define our future.
“The stories we tell ourselves shape the decisions we make, the risks we take, and the possibilities we see. Sometimes, growth begins when we dare to question the stories we have always believed.”
