@Sjr05d@neometalero@scottcarlinpt Lower in your case, yes. Garmin is super inaccurate for most. Requires you use a HRM (not the optical on the watch) and still tends to produce some wild numbers.
@Alan_Couzens Further, I agree very much. Concerted decisions to prioritize training over things like new cars and a huge house matter. Those decisions would undoubtedly consume time and resources that I personally believe are better spent on living a good life (which means training well). 😀
@Alan_Couzens I need to dial back my response and apologize. I feel like I could have worded this more gently and your kindness made me aware of that. You’re a class act. A true professional. 🫶🏼
@Alan_Couzens@NarrativeResist Now, what if you have children that would be houseless because of your need to train that much? Or, you work multiple jobs to cover the rent and feed your family? Sorry, this tweet is out of touch. We need to find ways to make sport more accessible and this attitude isn’t that.
@Alan_Couzens I generally agree with most of what you say (and appreciate how earnestly you choose your words), but you have to understand that time IS a privilege. Yes, we all have the same hours in a day, but having disposable time to train is a privilege that not all get.
@westcoast_DJ @haveyounofaith @Esqueer_ I’d rather leave my kids in a room full of trans people than a room full of priests. Not to mention that CIS men exposing themselves to women PUBLICLY happens all the time and on one seems worried above that.
@SageCanaday This is the part I agree with the most. It’s damaging to put an image out there that’s simply not attainable via natural means and claim it’s natural. Super corrosive behaviour.
@Alan_Couzens@keston_trammell Like most things, running genuinely easy is trainable. I hear this a lot as well, but have yet to come across a runner that can’t learn to run slow.
@GilliamLydell @J_Razzz @troskybaseball Definitely having a kid sit out for forgetting a belt makes it less fun. These are children and a lot of things are outside of their control. If it’s that contentious and really that important the coach should have spares and support the kids better vs. punish.
@CoachD_AU@troskybaseball 100%! Maybe the coach needs to ask themselves why they are not getting buy-in from the youth athletes on belts if this is so concerning? How a coach handles this could make all the difference. Posting it on Twitter definitely won’t help.
@Steph_Rothstein Male coaches being distracted is a coaching issue. It’s a male issue. It’s a societal issue. It’s not a student issue. It’s not a sports bra issue. Can’t believe we are still using the tired narrative of certain clothing being problematic because it distracts men.
@dOGes_unleashed @Steph_Rothstein Where has anyone said that they want men staring at kids? Who’s asking for this? Come on now, if you want to troll at least be somewhat relevant.
