@GlesgaBluemk6 95/96 thinking back to the price I paid for 4 star for my 1.2 Nova.
Eventually purchased a MK2 Golf GTI on an F plate in 1999 for £2k so this is a bit before then going on the price in the picture
@runningmann100 I’m probably getting old and grumpy but music coming out of loudspeakers carried by runners is annoying and disrespectful to the other runners who won’t be motivated by it.
In longer race it’s not like you can just speed up and get away from them easily
@scottroots@Strava That’s great. I need to keep track or else it gets out of hand with snacks etc.
Have really enjoyed my off season after spring races with a weeks all inclusive and a boys weekend away.
A bit of normality will help.
@Holding532@TrailsAndAlesUK I’m assuming many have no qualified run leaders / insurance etc. often see groups out in the winter with no real pace structure wearing dark clothing, no lights on unlit paths.
@TrailsAndAlesUK@montythemole They look like the first pair of running shoes I ever had (2008) might have to get them out the garage and wear to the pub on Friday evening
@SteAssent Running seems to have loads of unwritten rules that other sports don’t have.
When playing cricket, rugby, golf etc in my younger years it was always about the score and no one got funny about it.
My Vo2max when I ran a 4:01 mile was 67
My Vo2max when I ran 4:05 a few years later: 76
Performance is what matters. Looking at one number in isolation or chasing it is not the answer.
This is why an obsession over any measure is misguided. Performance is holistic.
@scottroots I’ve just checked my stats.
Faded by 3 mins in the second half which isn’t great but still gained nearly 900 places overtaking 20% of the people that were in front at halfway.
@scottroots You weren’t really trying in the first half.
I thought I’d faded quite badly, for me, but nowhere near as much as some. I’ll have to dive into those stats.
