@SarahQJ A5: The most important topic has to be plagiarism. My students consistently forget or don’t understand how to properly cite sources and respect copy write even though it is explicitly taught. #wuedt6035
@SarahQJ A4: Look what you already have. Chromebooks have great access to AT already built in through extensions such as read and write and change the background colors for those with dyslexia. Instead of searching outside your box look for what’s already in it! #wuedt6035
@SarahQJ A3: OER can play a global role in the classroom as students can compare and contrast resources from across the globe. For example, one of my students just relocated from Puerto Rico, having OER can provide access to familiar resources as they make their transition. #wuedt6035
@SarahQJ A2: My classroom would benefit from OER because students would have greater access to high quality resources from across the nation versus what my specific district has provided. It can also promote their ability to share their work #wuedt6035
A1: I realized that even photos labeled for reuse still needed to be copyrighted. I will make sure that I strongly advise my students that plagiarism can come with photos as well which they seem to not consider as often. #wuedt6035
@toshmorelli What an interesting question to pose! My district has to be very careful to only allow us access to sites that are safe for students and protect their privacy. Currently, our technology reps have the oversight, but I can see more strict regulations coming soon!
@DVaughan35 The gains that I see in my students come from their scores on my Google Form quizzes. I can actually see the students make progress from pre to post assessments and Google does all the grading for me! It's an awesome resource, thanks @Google
@DMMteacher One of my favorite games I use is the JASON Mission Coaster Creator. It allows students to create a roller coaster and analyze the potential and kinetic energy that allows the coaster to run. The students love playing the game and don't even realize they are learning!
@DVaughan35 This sounds like a great idea! Whenever we complete circuits in the classroom it's always interesting to see what students shine. Those who are usually on the trade pathway are above and beyond the top students just based on their backgrounds.
@oneteachertwo As long as the students are posting to the schools Instagram we can control the photos that are connected. I always understand this concern though!
