This morning Councillor Pete Davis and the inspirational former Afghan judge Marzia Babakarkhail joined @Debbie_abrahams MP for the @alzheimerssoc memory walk in Oldham's beautiful Alexandra Park. Alzheimer's is a cruel disease that touches many lives, let's fight it together.
A cross-Borough campaign.
Cllr Davis requested the planning application was put before committee to be heard in public.
However he was told the recommendation was refusal and so he withdrew the request and allowed planners to issue refusal without delay

Disappointing that this has been approved but inevitable with the current planning regime.
Please respond to the consultation on the local plan requesting that more controls are in place to stop the growth in HMOs (see comment thread for link). https://t.co/h4JkPH1f83
Next stop was South Failsworth Primary School where I was invited to read to the children to help launch the Summer Reading Challenge, a nationwide scheme to keep youngsters engaged in reading over the summer holidays.
Councillor Norman Briggs who sits on the board of Oldham Cancer Support would like to thank the fundraisers. It was a pleasure to celebrate their efforts at the weekend.

Oldham Council has been doing this for years, imagine how much money and how many jobs you could create in this Country if the whole public sector did it @AngelaRayner

Delighted to support local residents around Duke Street with their litter pick this morning.
If we all just litter pick the front outside our home imagine the difference we could make to #Failsworth 🧹🧹🧹
The Tories try to fix the Failsworth boundaries to favour them, and the ‘party putting Failsworth at its heart’ says absolutely nothing on the matter…
