Here is the video and transcript of my recent TED talk where I lay out the 3 principles of technoskepticism, and why it is so important to keep social media, artificial relationships, and 1:1 devices (a computer on every desk) away from kids:

Thanks, @AndersonCooper, for exploring the 3 principles of technoskepticism with me. They are common sense once you think about child development, or, as you say, your own experience
The West is in an age of “hyperpolitics” in which polarization has surged but institutions are incapable of delivering change, a leading researcher argued.

@aaron_renn Anecdotally having lived in both Indiana (Valparaiso) and Ohio (Columbus) now, Indiana is way more religious on average than Ohio.
Comparing Columbus and Indianapolis, it seems that Christianity/religion overall are way more mainstream & important in Indianapolis than Columbus.
One artifact of Columbus and to some extent Indy not being heavy industrial centers is that they ended up very Protestant and didn't have ethnic/Catholic political machines. This allowed for more cohesive civic leadership with fewer rival power centers, less parochialism.
@orleansway I look at it like this yes Heatwave turned it down but it was meant for Michael if Heatwave sang rock with you and if Michael sang Always and Forever the songs may not have had the same magic Rock With You was perfect for Michael

Today, I proclaimed June as Nuclear Family Month in Indiana.
As a father of four and grandfather of seven, I have seen firsthand the impact that loving, committed families can have across multiple generations. As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, this proclamation recognizes the important role families play in shaping the future of our state and our country.
Indiana will continue supporting policies that strengthen families and help the next generation thrive.
