1. Restore targeted petroleum subsidies to reduce transportation costs and the rising cost of living.

2. Review NELFUND and consider debt forgiveness, based on the principle that Nigerian students deserve scholarships and affordable access to education, not crippling debt.

10. Overhaul the healthcare sector through institutional reforms, expanding access to quality and affordable basic healthcare while addressing shortages, remuneration and the welfare of healthcare professionals.

11. Devolve powers to subnational governments by restructuring the Exclusive and Concurrent Legislative Lists, giving states and local governments greater responsibility and capacity, while creating a lean, efficient Federal Government focused on matters requiring national coordination.

The Wealth and Assets Reportedly Left Behind by the Late Alhaji Aminu Dantata

It has been claimed that the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata left behind as much as ₦61 trillion in cash and deposits in banks in Nigeria and abroad.

He was also reportedly said to have owned about 800 filling stations in Nigeria and outside the country. These stations allegedly did not carry his name but were said to be under his ownership.

In Kano State alone, he was reportedly said to have left 500 houses and approximately 1,200 plots of land, some fenced and others with incomplete construction.

He was also said to have owned 320 houses in other Nigerian cities and abroad.

His reported vehicle collection included 280 cars in active use, while another 120 vehicles were said to be kept in storage and not in use.

It was further claimed that he left behind shares worth more than ₦30 trillion in companies operating in Nigeria and abroad.

In an interview in 2022, he reportedly said that he began purchasing private aircraft as far back as 1967, when one aircraft cost about US$120,000. He was said to have owned 10 private aircraft, each reportedly worth at least ₦1 billion.

He lived with four wives and reportedly left behind more than 45 children and over 150 grandchildren.

As he had wished, he was buried in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

What the Minister of Defence said on national television about a former Minister and former Governor who has served this country in different capacities was completely unnecessary and beneath the office he occupies.

You may disagree with El-Rufai politically. You may challenge his policies, record or opinions. But throwing terrorism allegations at him because you are a Christian from Southern Kaduna is foolishness and a lack of political substance. This is not how to gain political influence, Village Man.
