I’m at that weird age where every younger person I meet makes me realize how much l've aged, and every older person I meet makes me realize I'm still a baby.
Proximity is power. The closer you are to people living the kind of life you want, the faster you’ll get there. you’ll see how they think, how they move, and how they handle pressure. Being around that energy raises your standards and changes what you expect from yourself.
The neurodivergent ick when you realize mid-convo that correcting them is pointless because they'd need self-awareness and emotional intelligence to even process that they're wrong.
Many people criticize Rue's mother, and it's clear that a lot of them don't understand what it's actually like to live with an addict. For the sake of storytelling, the show leaves out many of the uglier, exhausting realities that family members of addicts deal with every day. Because of that, we never fully see everything Rue's mother likely endured behind the scenes while trying to keep her daughter alive.
At the end of the day, you can only help an addict so much. You can support them, guide them, protect them, and give them endless chances, but the final decision is always theirs. They have to choose recovery for themselves.
People also forget that Rue's mother was a single parent. Raising children is already incredibly difficult, but raising a child struggling with severe addiction while carrying the entire burden alone is a completely different level of stress and responsibility.
No parent is perfect, and Rue's mother certainly made mistakes. But one thing I never doubted was that she genuinely loved her daughter and did everything within her power to protect her. That's what makes her character so tragic. She was fighting a battle that no parent can ever fully control. #euphoria
I feel like in order to watch euphoria this season You should have had to show proof of addiction or live with addicts because I’m very convinced You all just have no clue.
the #euphoria finale was amazing, depressing & the kind of realness shows & themes often stray away from. 4 days later i’m ready to say the death was fitting & i think losing a fictional character that basically 2 generations are gutted by, maybe we can start pushing for an america where shelters, free rehab clinics & methadone clinics are more accessible.
the american dream is dead, even for young white men like nate jacobs. that’s why his story had every young male i know texting. we ALL know a Rue Bennett. we all know folks who fell into sex work or digital pimp work. we are all fighting for “our american dream” without helping others & it’s fallen apart.
may god bless us all #hbo #resteasyRue
Zendaya as Rue will go down the history as one of the most raw, painful & realistic portrayal of addiction I’ve seen on television. She’s so special, she made us all see Rue as a real person. We love you Zendaya, we love you Rue
