Saint Anthony of Padua - Prayer to Accept God’s Will
O Saint Anthony,
faithful servant of God and gentle guide to those who seek what is lost,
intercede for me before the Lord.
When my heart struggles to understand His plan,
help me find the courage to accept the holy will of God.
Teach me to trust that His wisdom is greater than my fears
and that His plans are always filled with love and purpose.
Through your prayers,
may my heart grow stronger in surrender and faith.
Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Hi, everyone.
In the last few days, the only news you’ve heard from me has been difficult, but at this very moment, I would like to share some good news with you.
I want to use this opportunity to thank The Lagos State Police Command Complaint Response Unit for their prompt attention to this matter. From reaching out, swinging into action the moment the news broke, and following up to make sure everything was okay.
I have been in talks with the ACP in charge of the Area J Command, Elemoro, Ibeju Lekki, providing her with all the details necessary with hopes that the officers at fault would be found and brought to book.
I am happy to let you know that I just left the Elemoro Police Station and thanks to the effort and investigation of ACP Oluyemisi Ojo, the police officers were found, and disciplinary action has been taken against them.
Justice has been served!
I can’t begin to describe how much of a heavy burden and emotional weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The mere fact that justice can be served at a time where public trust for the police is very low is truly encouraging.
For everyone who has ever been treated badly at the hands of police officers, please make sure you report the case. Get as much evidence as you can and take the matter up. The Lagos State Complaint Response Unit (on Instagram) works, and their job is to ensure the safety of the citizens while also sanitizing the system of the bad officers.
I shouldn’t have experienced what I went through, and neither should any Nigerian simply going about their business. I know I am lucky, but also, I was innocent. We are approaching the celebratory season.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL.
While there are good officers out there, the bad ones exist also. While celebrating, be mindful of your surroundings and remember the potential risks. Harassment is unacceptable, and no one deserves to go through all that.
For all the messages, calls, prayers, and outpouring of love and support I received, I am truly grateful. It is indeed a blessing to know that I was not alone during this period and that there will always be people to rise up and stand with you when it truly matters.
Thank you everyone, God bless you. Now it’s time to focus on being me again.
This response will unfortunately escalate this matter; something I was genuinely hoping to avoid. Your DM says I “alleged” the abuse I suffered, and this response now implies that what I went through is mere fiction or a made-up story. No problem.
Please check your DM for my contact details.
That said, and I say this with full understanding that your job is to protect your officers and I recognize that this response is written from that standpoint. But while you may not be a field officer and your exposure might be limited, I sincerely pray you never experience the nightmare that YOUR POLICE OFFICERS subject Nigerians to everyday, all in the name of “checkpoints.”
Nonetheless, allow me to enlighten you and point out a few things:
1. A simple scroll through your timeline shows numerous complaints from Nigerians who have suffered one injustice or another and have called on your unit for intervention.
2. YOUR UNIT WAS ESTABLISHED BECAUSE OF HOW THESE “TRAINED OFFICERS” YOU’VE QUICKLY DEFENDED HAVE TREATED NIGERIANS IN THE PAST.
3. The harassment I experienced is not peculiar to me. Others have shared similar ordeals (if you read through the comments on my post, you’ll see them). I will therefore make a separate post calling on Nigerians who have suffered similar abuse from the same officers to come forward and share their experiences, and I will tag you to it.
Perhaps after seeing multiple, corroborating reports, you will realize that your officers have deviated far from their supposed “training.” As it stands today, THE NIGERIAN POLICE IS NO LONGER OUR FRIEND.
Incase you missed it, here’s what ACTUALLY happened to me:
- My car was thoroughly searched- nothing was found.
- My driver’s license and car documents were seized on the claim that my vehicle was stolen.
- I was handcuffed, harassed, and driven to an unknown location in the dead of night.
- My phone was confiscated, and I was completely unreachable - no one knew my whereabouts until I was released.
- I had no idea where I was taken or what my supposed offense was until we arrived at the station.
- I was forced to write a statement under duress, without a surety or legal representative present.
- A gun was cocked at me simply because I refused to hand over my car keys (what if there was a misfire?)
- The officers were not in uniform, were not in a patrol vehicle, and the vehicle used to transport me had no number plates.
You think I merely “narrated a story” or “alleged” an ordeal? I can give a detailed description of the Elemero Police Station right now down to the smallest details. Ask about me, please.
I now look forward to you taking this up and continuing this investigation. I’ll be waiting in the DM (or here whichever you prefer)!

Dear Riders, especially on “InDrive” Lagos,
Please only offer or accept the price you can accept. Most times, we the passengers don’t have the strength to be negotiating what to add or what not to add during pickup.
Thank you and God bless you!
