یک منبع آگاه به ایران اینترنشنال خبر داد که مسعود پزشکیان، رئیس‌جمهوری ایران، با ارسال نامه‌ای رسمی به دفتر مجتبی خامنه‌ای، رهبر جمهوری اسلامی، خواستار کناره‌گیری از سمت خود شد.

بر اساس اطلاعات رسیده به ایران‌اینترنشنال، پزشکیان در این نامه که طی ساعات گذشته ارسال شده، با لحنی کم‌سابقه و انتقادی هشدار داده است که ساختار اداره کشور عملاً از مسیرهای رسمی خارج شده و بخش‌های اصلی حاکمیت تحت کنترل کامل طیفی خاص از فرماندهان سپاه پاسداران قرار گرفته است.

هنوز روشن نیست که مجتبی خامنه‌ای با استعفای رئیس‌جمهوری موافقت خواهد کرد یا خیر، اما محتوای نامه از شکافی عمیق و بی‌سابقه در بالاترین سطوح قدرت در جمهوری اسلامی حکایت دارد.

پزشکیان در این نامه تأکید کرده که رئیس‌جمهوری و دولت عملاً از روند تصمیم‌گیری‌های کلان و حیاتی کشور کنار گذاشته شده‌اند و خلأ ناشی از این وضعیت، زمینه را برای در دست گرفتن امور توسط جریان‌های افراطی در سپاه پاسداران فراهم کرده است. او همچنین تصریح کرده که در چنین شرایطی امکان اداره دولت و انجام مسئولیت‌های قانونی خود را ندارد و به همین دلیل خواستار کناره‌گیری فوری شده است.

این تحول در حالی رخ می‌دهد که طی ماه‌های گذشته کشمکشی مستمر میان دولت و نهادهای نظامی ـ امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی جریان داشته است. ایران اینترنشنال پیش‌تر نیز گزارش داده بود که سپاه پاسداران به‌تدریج بسیاری از اختیارات نهاد ریاست‌جمهوری را محدود کرده و در عمل کنترل بخش‌های کلیدی حکومت را در دست گرفته است.

به گفته منابع مطلع، این وضعیت باعث شده است دولت پزشکیان در بن‌بستی سیاسی و اجرایی گرفتار شود؛ بن‌بستی که نه امکان پیشبرد مذاکرات دیپلماتیک را فراهم می‌کند و نه اجازه تکمیل و اعمال تغییرات مورد نظر در ساختار کابینه را می‌دهد.
