New paper🎉🎉
We introduce FInCH, a new continuous-time method for inference on individual animal movement.
FInCH is scale-invariant, models behavioural changes between observation times, and allows for inference in either a Bayesian or frequentist setting. 🐾

When AI classifies an object, is it correct? It depends on the accuracy of your algorithm and the prevelance of the object. Interestingly (well to me), we demonstrate there is some information about the accuracy of an algorithm without a confusion matrix https://t.co/3DYCwblJmJ
@sdnjohnson @ICES_ASC Blim is also calculated by ICES on a stock by stock basis. For category 1 stocks, which we look at, ICES determine Blim by looking at the SRR in the assessment and deciding which of 6 types each stock. They have rules for each of the 6 types. See https://t.co/oOOJNtSxHA
As changing stock sizes will cause changes to predator prey dynamics we ask:
Can we simultaneously adopt the precautionary approach for multiple stocks in the North Sea?
I'll be presenting this next Monday at @ICES_ASC

@sdnjohnson @ICES_ASC ICES define the precautionary approach by looking at the long-term SSB. If the probability that the long-term SSB of an individual stock is below its Blim is less than 0.05 then the precautionary approach is being followed.

Very happy to announce that I have received a 3-year ECR @FormasForsk grant to continue our work on the age structure of exploited fish stocks @_SLU @SLU_aqua. The grant builds directly on our ABImsy work recently published in @FishFishJournal - https://t.co/YJASPowAbJ 🐟🎣💻
