As a proud dog owner and animal lover, I was proud to support anti-animal-cruelty legislation to end the inhumane puppy-mill-to-pet-shop pipeline by cutting off commercial sales of cats and dogs in Massachusetts pet stores.

Next Thursday, the MA Senate will debate and vote on the PETS Act to combat animal cruelty in Massachusetts.
The PETS Act includes a bill I filed to promote ethical pet sales which puts a stop to the cruel and inhumane “puppy mill” pipeline that ships pets into our state. (1/3)
Massachusetts could ban pet shops from selling dogs and cats.
A new bill would only allow adoptions through shelters and rescues, with fines up to $1,000 for a first offense, $2,500 for a second, and $5,000 for repeat violations.

Knocking doors for @electjacklewis, champion of many animal protection issues at the State House. Ashland/Framingham folks — vote for Jack on Sept 3. It’s a contested race and we need to keep him in office!
We endorse @RepVannaHoward, who has filed legislation to ensure that people convicted of animal cruelty do not have possession of animals for a period of time after their conviction. Vote Nov 5. Lowell, Tewksbury

Rep. Jack Lewis has been a great friend to animals at the MA State House. He filed legislation to reduce the testing of cosmetics on animals. He has also filed bills to prevent breed-based discrimination in housing. https://t.co/1bATuceBzj
Vote September 3! (Framingham/Ashland)
Monday hearing: S. 2197/S. 2189/H. 3245 prohibit the use of elephants, big cats, primates, bears, and giraffes in traveling acts in Mass. These shows subject intelligent, social animals to coercive, abusive treatment and inability to express even basic instincts.
WE WON! So humbled and grateful for everyone’s support and honored to serve as State Rep for this amazing district and work with all of you to build an amazing future for our communities!
