Community events – like this one in Groton to celebrate The Groton Center’s recent national accreditation – are also great opportunities to discuss business, like this impromptu conversation about rail trail improvements with Groton Select Board Chair Peter Cunningham.
A great start to the year Earlier this month, I was able to join Ms. Jackson and her class from North Middlesex Regional High School -- What great questions from our next generation of leaders. Thank you for visiting your State House and for engaging with me! @NMRHSpride
I just picked them up this morning – and look at all these ideas! Thank you, Lunenburg High School and North Middlesex Regional High School students: I can’t wait to read every one. Thank you to Mr. Stephenson, Ms. Chappelle, Ms. Foyle, and Mr. Sullivan for the partnership here!
Happy New Year everyone! “If I Had One Wish …” That’s the name of the project I launched in December. The idea was to engage with students in the First Middlesex District to understand what is uppermost in their minds. [1/3] #mapoli
I was not looking for their Christmas or Hanukkah wish-list: I wanted them to tell me what one thing they would change, fix, start, become, etc. (wish for) in their community, their nation, or their world. [2/3] #mapoli
Townsend is using $742,000 of American Rescue Plan funding to coordinate community service and wellness programs. It was great to join @RepScarsdale and hear from town officials about the impactful programs they’re launching to improve the lives of folks who live in Townsend.
Great to be at the groundbreaking today for the Townsend Water treatment plant. Nice to hear from the elected officials who recognize how vital clean water is to the health and vitality of the community @RepLoriTrahan@JohnCronin_MA@RepScarsdale. Good to see @tighebond too!
We created Massachusetts’ first-ever Director of Rural Affairs position to help us build an economy that booms from Williamstown to Wellfleet.

Kicked off the weekend by joining the Greater Lowell Area Democrats (GLAD), sharing my background and priorities, and hearing from @MarianRyanDA, Governor’s Councilor Paul DiPalo, @JamieEldridgeMA, and my House classmates @RepScarsdale and Rodney Elliott.
Today is #InternationalWomensDay, where we celebrate the accomplishments of women worldwide. In Massachusetts, with 63 female members comprising 31.5% of the legislature, we are making progress toward gender parity. I am proud to be the 233 woman to serve in the legislature!
Our team stands ready to support the victims of this tragic fire in any way we can. Thank you to the many local departments who have been battling this blaze today.
Our first office hours have been a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out and shared their ideas and concerns. We couldn’t have done it without the great assistance and support of the @GrotonLibraryMA , @lawrencelib, and @Townsendlib12. Community-building is powerful!
