@SPD_travels Im not saying its entirely US but my opinion is more so that especially the US carriers all Bank on Heathrow like nothing else, so the US demand tends to go through Heathrow, i could be talking all bollocks but thats just how I see the situation
@SPD_travels@pigreen1@RhunapIorwerth I travel to North Wales 5+ times a year from Manchester, if traffic isn't clogged up takes judt over an hour driving and utilising the M56 and A55 primarily, Manchester to North Wales really isn't far but for some reason people act like the gap is massive π€·ββοΈ
@FodRacc@303SnowWolf I agree with this, the initial idea is impressive but the fact they went as low to the ground as they did is where it takes away from that factor because if anything went wrong at all and something happened it very well could end in a fireball which nobody wants to see happen
@CaptBob_Nomadic@tanyaweiman@AIN_SkyWriter This is my point exactly, the current system in the UK could work fine with paying for treatment as long as regulated, the US' problem is the moment tbings don't go under insurance it costs a lot of money and causes more issues. My personal opinion is the US way is better overall
@tanyaweiman@CaptBob_Nomadic@AIN_SkyWriter Absolutely, I dont take for granted what we have, im glad it exists and I think the way the US does it isn't how it should be done but at the end of the day its one of the many issues with that country just like the UK for different reasons is in a very similar boat unfortunately
@CaptBob_Nomadic@tanyaweiman@AIN_SkyWriter But at the same time you get things done quicker, there's pros and cons to both systems and it just depends on how you want to do it, the US has a fucked healthcare system but the UKs is not in a better shape at the moment so it just comes down to how to get the best QOL from it
@CaptBob_Nomadic@tanyaweiman@AIN_SkyWriter See the way I look at things is like this, im in the UK and we get free health care but the reality is the NHS is understaffed and underfunded and hospitals overcrowded with weeks long wait times for any diagnoses or procedures ect whereas in the US you pay for health care 1/2
@BrockLee679011@SPD_travels You should bear in mind the catchment area of Manchester, outside of LHR and LGW we have by far the most routes of any UK airport and most longhaul traffic from LPL/LBA area is forced to use Manchester as any other airport provides a far longer commute
@SPD_travels Im pretty sure that was already the case with the afternoon and evening flight being 35K + the morning being a Qsuite equipped 77W but its good to see more 777 action nonetheless
@analyticflying@hiravaero@IndiGo6E@airindia@SpiritAirlines Any chance ryanair would be in with a chance at getting their hands on them knowing that O'leary has openly said he does want to find new aircraft to replace the ageing Lauda 320s or just seems unlikely given who they'll likely go?
@Sharkkk34807334 @AviationNews_UK Virgin aren't planning on basing NEOs in MAN until next year, still-300s at the moment, hopefully they will base it here when its ready but nothing stated as of yet for it
