While this is aimed at regulating the medical pipeline, mandatory Pre-internship tests are an unnecessary hurdle while making internship a prerequisite for graduation.
Now someone could miss deployment, and will have no other route.

MBR25 have spent their rest on labor day with an intraclass sports gala where games they participated in football, netball, boardgames and FIFA PlayStation.
Their senior of MBR23 led by the new MBUMSA president and some of his committee members were there and also participated.

At the 2026 MBUMSA GA held on 30th April,the dean faculty of medicine Dr Elias Kumbankumba challenged medical students to actively take part in MBUMSA activities like dinner, tournaments, quizzes among other.
He also called upon students to get involved in soft skills sessions.

Thanks to every medical student at Mbarara University of science and technology who attended the 2025 MBUMSA General Assembly.

Today, I had the pleasure of handing over the site for construction of the MUST College of Health Sciences, to the contractor - the National Enterprise Corporation. The construction will be supervised by National Housing and Construction Company. Funded by Government of Uganda.

Celebrating outstanding research excellence at Mbarara University of Science and Technology

Mugisha Allan Okello clinched the Best Research & Innovation award for his work on strengthening health systems through local pharmaceutical production in Sub-Saharan Africa, presented by Dr. Jonans Tusimiire.

This achievement reflects MUST’s commitment to community-rooted research and producing graduates ready to transform the pharmaceutical sector in Uganda and beyond.
