I think it should be a rule that anyone who calculates final grades by averaging old scores into newer ones should be required to have all their exes be invited to their wedding with time given to each during the speeches.
100% an experiment, but I am walking away from the first #BrewEDU virtual meet-up absolutely re-energized and excited about teaching. Thanks to all who came and helped me grow and think outside my own lens today.
This definitely won't be the only one.

Getting really excited for BrewEDU this Thursday. Today's the last day to fill out the form to join us.
Looking for a place to learn from educators from all over, share ideas, and meet new people? We'd love to have you there!

Today is one of the best teacher days I’ve had in a long time and this email was the icing on the cake ❤️ I always go into conferences feeling anxious and always walk away remembering how important they are and feeling more closely connected with my students and their families
Wednesday’s are planning days in hybrid learning and I’ve now reached the portion of the day where I think about all the things I’m not going to be able to prep for the next 5 days and it looks something like this: #hybridlearning
just started reading this bool on vocab. The intro says: “If we only pass on a decontextualized list to our students, we reinforce the idea that words are not owned but borrowed from someone else.” 🔥🔥🔥 I think I’m going to like this book
Everything changed for me when I started asking, "Does my grading system instill fear or hope?"
That's honestly all it took.
My job is not to terrify kids of failure. My job is to help students see their potential and growth.
@MBZins just got this email from a student and I'm dying from the cuteness of picturing an awkward little 7th grader writing this to their 1st grade teacher.
All teachers, you rock.
Elementary teachers especially, you don't often get to see the impact you make but it's amazing.
Student A purchases virtual field trip through the school store, so we look at @SeaWorld on @googleearth
Student B: Oooooh can we go to the prison where they kept Ted Bundy next??
Me: 😳🧐

@JoshOnTheCouch WOBBLY MAN!! (I assume is the tube people). Yesterday sounded like a cluster, so this gives me some ease and makes my heart so happy. THANK YOU!
One year ago today this dude quite literally walked into our lives (showed up at @MBZins' school, never found the owners, and he never left...)
Also, some morning pup for your timeline because we need all the pups and pets in 2020.
Though, the downside is that @MBZins is now wandering the house VERY LOUDLY singing a ton of Disney songs in her best opera impression.
So, I love it, but in like three hours, I will hate it.
The incredible @JoshOnTheCouch runs an afternoon radio show via Zoom for all the kids at one of the elementary schools in our district, and this is the first time I've been able to see it.
It's adorable and connects kids and makes them smile, and I freaking love it.
Someone please tell me that somehow this is magically only available in the US and the other countries aren't watching this...
I'm so embarrassed.
