Heads up, Rutherford County! We’re expecting a Tornado Watch to be issued for our area shortly. The main concern tonight is still damaging straight-line winds, but we can't rule out an isolated tornado.
The timing hasn't changed—expect things to pick up between 10:00 PM to Midnight. Since this is a late-night event, please make sure your phone alerts are turned up loud enough to wake you. Now is the time to make sure everyone in the house knows exactly where your safe room is.
This system is acting as forecast, unfortunately! All of the warnings as of 6:30pm! Thinking has not changed and forecast has been spot on so far.
That said, still looking at a nocturnal event for Rutherford County, with timing seems to be 10-11pm, give or take an hour or so.
🚨 UPDATE ON STORMS 🚨 The timing for the worst of the storms tonight - according to the latest Futurecast run - is between 10:30-11pm to move into Rutherford Co. I’d give it a couple of hours either way but these systems sometimes speed up with the amount of wind energy.
Destructive winds of 75-80 mph and leading edge tornadoes are still on the table.
We will continue to watch as the system progresses!
