Gavin Newsom goes off on the Trump Family corruption:
Newsom: And I’m not talking about the $100,000 watches. I’m not talking about the guitars that he’s selling that you didn’t even know about, or the Bibles, or the sneakers. I’m not talking about all that.
I’m talking about what’s happening substantively with these kids and these investments, and the Pentagon contracts they’re receiving on rare earth minerals and drone companies, and all the stuff that’s happening with the Kushner family, the Witkoff family, the “Board of Peace,” which is about getting a piece of the Middle East.
Let’s talk about the UAE and high-value chips, where they’re getting a piece of our national security, where the Biden administration held off. But as long as you can get a deal done with the UAE on the private family businesses, then all of a sudden national security becomes less of an important talking point.
Or how about the tariff relief in places like Vietnam for the golf courses and the development deals, and the dozen other countries that he’s doing business in? How about all the corruption as it relates to the self-dealing with his resorts and all of his assets that the Secret Service and taxpayers are subsidizing? Or directing G7 investments? Or the emoluments issues across the spectrum every day? Or just the day trading literally behind the Oval Office desk, or showing up on your calendar at a company that you just invested in because you know that stock’s going to pop because you’re going to promote it the next day?
All of this happening—this open sewage system. You talk about draining the swamp. He gave it a presidential suite with gold leaf.
And you’re seeing this gross corruption at a scale and scope never before seen in modern American history. This is stuff I don’t even imagine exists at this scale in a year and a half, even in Putin’s Russia or Kim Jong-un’s North Korea.
Ordinary Americans have lost over $1 billion on Trump's meme coin as its value plunged 95%
Trump's take? Reportedly more than $600 million in profit

@Acyn HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! (Deep Breath) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
McCarthy, you kissed Trump’s ass even when you had TWO opportunities to help rid this country of his bullshit.
Happy 80th birthday to my friend George W. Bush!
Your friendship—and that of your father and your entire family—has been one of the great gifts of my life. It has always reminded me that long before we’re politicians, we’re fellow Americans and, above all, human beings.
And for the next month, I’m especially grateful to finally have someone older than me! Wishing you many more years of good health, happiness, and friendship.
Our country is stronger when we remember that what unites us is greater than what divides us.
The United States 🇺🇸 losing so badly to Belgium 🇧🇪, 4-1, is fitting because Trump stuck his nose where no head of state belongs.
If the USMNT won then Trump would have made it all about himself.
“I alone got the US further than they’ve ever been before in history!” 🤮
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know @realDonaldTrump and family did.
250 years ago we declared independence from a king who ran the colonies as a family business. In just 18 months the Trumps have made King George look like an amateur.
A $620 million Pentagon loan, the largest in the program’s history, to a company Don Jr.’s firm bought into three months before.
An Air Force drone contract to a startup the princelings took public through a golf course company they own a piece of.
The Army’s largest drone motor order ever, to a company where Don Jr. sits on the board and holds millions in stock.
A $24 million Pentagon robotics contract to the company that employs Eric as Chief Strategy Advisor.
A stake in the largest undeveloped tungsten deposit on earth, in Kazakhstan, backed by $1.6 billion in US government support.
Jared’s fund seeded with $2 billion from the Saudi crown prince, now $6.2 billion, 99% of it foreign money from Gulf governments. Over $110 million in fees collected from the Saudis alone. He negotiates American foreign policy with the governments that pay him.
$2.3 billion from crypto ventures their father regulates. More than a million people bought in and lost $2.3 billion. The money didn’t grow. It simply moved from the subjects pockets to the crown’s coffers.
And the next one is already drafted. A proposed ATF rule that will allow guns to be shipped straight to your front door. The government’s own estimate is 3.3 million home gun deliveries a year. Don Jr. sits on the board of the online gun megastore built to cash in. He holds 300,000 shares.
And that’s only the fraction they’ve allowed us to see. Not one subpoena served. Not one search executed. Why hide anything when you own the investigators?
Me? They searched a laptop for six years. Federal prosecutors. Grand juries. Subpoena power. Congressional hearings. They found nothing. I made about $200k a year selling paintings when my Dad was President, and they made my paintings part of an impeachment inquiry.
For six years they’ve asked Where’s Hunter? What about the laptop?
Wrong questions. The right one is 250 years old. Does America belong to a family?
They’ve given their answer. Long live the King.
Pete Hegseth fired a three-star admiral with no reason given. On Wednesday, Mark Kelly endorsed her for Congress.
Her name is Nancy Lacore. She spent 35 years in the Navy, rising from pilot to vice admiral to chief of the Navy Reserve. Last August she was called into a senior officer's office and told Hegseth had ordered her firing. "There was no reason given," she said.
Within the hour she had cleared out of the Pentagon for good, one of the senior officers swept out in Hegseth's purge of the military's leadership.
In January she launched a campaign for Congress. Last week she won the Democratic nomination in South Carolina's 1st District, the seat Nancy Mace abandoned to run for governor and lose. The district holds one of the largest military communities in the country, and the Cook Political Report has moved it out of the safe Republican column.
Kelly knows exactly what she's up against, because Hegseth came for him too.
After Kelly and five other lawmakers filmed a video reminding service members they are not required to follow illegal orders, Hegseth issued the retired Navy captain a formal letter of censure and moved to strip his rank and cut his pension. A federal judge blocked it.
Hegseth could not touch the senator. So the senator is funding the fired.
Kelly endorsed Lacore alongside nine other veterans running for office, with a pledged donation to each, part of more than a million dollars he has put into races this cycle. Navy helicopter pilots. A JAG officer. A NASA chief of staff. "Veterans understand what it means to put country before self," he wrote. "These leaders did it during their time in service, and now they're answering the call again."
The purge was supposed to remove these people from public life. It is what's putting them on ballots.
You can fire an admiral. You cannot order a civilian to stay quiet.
Hegseth's order put her on the ballot in November. The irony is so sweet.
62 years ago today, the Civil Rights Act was signed into law because people refused to back down. That same energy is needed now.
As voting rights are under attack, we cannot afford to be complacent.
We must keep fighting until every voice is heard and every vote counts.
BREAKING: Jack Smith breaks his silence with his first interview since resigning — and says that "we are facing an attack on the rule of law" under Trump.
And he was just getting started...
"Well, you know, I was a career prosecutor," the former Special Counsel told MS NOW's Nicolle Wallace. "I worked in the Justice Department and other prosecutors offices for near on 30 years. And I don't know if your viewers know this but I worked in Republican and Democratic administrations over and over."
"I was the acting U.S. Attorney in the first Trump administration in Nashville, Tennessee," he explained. "And that administration appointed me to a position running a war crimes tribunal for the State Department. So I have investigated cases focusing on the facts and the law throughout my career. We did this case the same way under the same standards."
Smith has every right to defend himself on this front. His investigations into Trump's rampant criminality were conducted fairly, impartially, and professionally. For his troubles, he found himself relentlessly attacked by our crooked President until he became Public Enemy #1 for a large, deranged swath of the country. This interview represents a small step towards reclaiming his legacy from the smears.
Smith ultimately brought charges against Trump for interfering in the 2020 election and for smuggling classified documents down to Mar-a-Lago, but they were dismissed to the outrage of many after Trump won the election.
"And you know the thing that I think important for your viewers to know is those standards are not meant to change from one administration to the next," Smith continued. "And in my experience until now they haven't. And so, you know, I think we are facing an attack on the rule of law that is different in kind and scope to anything I've seen in my lifetime."
"And one of the reasons I wanted to be with you here today in advance of the 4th of July celebrating the birth of a country that we all love is to celebrate the public servants who do this work, the people I spent my career working shoulder-to-shoulder with," said Smith.
"I loved being a prosecutor and part of it was I loved being around these sort of people," he went on. "And it angers me to see them victimized, to see them demonized for doing their jobs. I think it's really important that we stand up for them and let them know that there are a lot of people out there who back them and who are with them.
"And that's not just the people who've been targeted and fired for no reason for doing their jobs," said Smith. "It's also the people still in the Justice Department today. There are a lot of good career prosecutors who right now are working under incredibly difficult circumstances and they're still trying to do the right thing. And these are not self-promoters, these are not people who are going to go out and you know crow about their achievements. We need to hold them up and celebrate them because they're part of what makes this country great."
It cannot be stressed enough just how much damage Trump has inflicted on our justice system. He's proven that some people are simply above the law in this country, that Presidents can commit crimes with impunity so long as their party controls Congress. He weaponized the entire Justice Department to target his political enemies to such an extent that its credibility may never recover.
Now, more than ever, we need people like Jack Smith to stand up and speak the truth, consequences and retribution be damned.
Please ❤️ and share if you're grateful to Jack Smith for his service!
