Freshman season update for Major Brooks at Tulsa Lincoln Christian HS.
The Bulldogs put together one of the best seasons in school history, finishing 33-7 while advancing to the Oklahoma Class 3A State Semi-Finals. Lincoln Christian set a school record for wins, captured District, Regional, and Super Regional Championships, and earned the program’s first-ever State Tournament game victory.
Led by a strong senior class, the Bulldogs made their 6th State Tournament appearance in school history.
Major, the team's only freshman starter, led Lincoln Christian in hitting with a .450 batting average and played a key role in this special season.
Proud of the season, the growth, and the way this team competed together.
I agree with Chris, One of the most underrated Sooners of all time: Scott Case.
1982-83 DB from Edmond HS & NEO A&M who stepped into OU’s secondary and immediately became a playmaker.
• 1st Team All-Big 8 (1983)

2 Fumble Recoveries
4 TFL
Then came an even more impressive NFL career:
12 seasons
178 regular season games
960 tackles
30 INTs
Super Bowl Champion with the Dallas Cowboys
One of the best two-year impact players OU has ever had.
1994, OU vs. Texas Tech, 17-11 Sooner Win. Cedric Jones broke both the Tackle for LosT & Sack Record for a Single Game vs. the Red Raiders.
Here's Cedric's Stat line:
10 Tlks,
6 T/FL for 35yds in lost
(Including 5 Sacks for 33yds in lost)
Cedric Jones has held both of those Sooner Records for 32 Seasons.
@LarryInMissouri@OU_Football@kaydinjoness One of only two players in the decade of the 90’s to earn 1st team All American honors, Joe Bowden was the other. Top 5 draft pick that started in a Super Bowl with the NY Giants. Great player that doesn’t get the recognition he deserves in OU history. @JRConrad64@MBrooks02
What a game, Nebraska came into Norman 10-0-0, Sooners Win 17-14, the Sooners next game was the Orange Bowl vs. 11-0-0 Fla. State Seminoles OU wins 24-7. That's the was to windup a Season.
Excellent memory there Dave and it turned out to be a great day for the Sooners winning 17-14! I also recall Billy had 247 yards that day against the No. 1 Huskers.

Stats, you're right he was, but in this case it was Houston not A&M. Shepard was the Top Player in Texas HS Recruiting in 1977.
Darrell Shepard was Kyler Murray before Kyler Murray.
Before Kyler Murray- There was Darrell Shepard.
@MBrooks02@WallisMarsh Daryl Shepherd was embroiled in some sort of recruiting controversy withAand M if I remember correctly. I think it involve a Trans Am.

@MBrooks02 Remember that game like it was yesterday. Eddie did make one mistake. He almost ran out of the end zone and got to the line and stopped and they ruled it a touchback. I think to this day he came out.
Robert, I’m with you—Eddie Hinton is one of the Top 6 WR in OU history.
A true difference maker: elite WR, dynamic punt & kickoff returner, and rushed for 633 yards (5.9 ypc). Finished with 4,000+ all-purpose yards and started every game of his Sooner career.
1968 Season Opener vs. #3 Notre Dame (South Bend):
• 6 catches, 122 yards, TD (72 yards)
• 3 KR, 68 yards
• 1 INT, 32-yard return
• 228 all-purpose yards
@MBrooks02 Eddie Hinton, a man among boys….never forget his look in reception against ND and took it to the house, about 70 yards. Then playing DB jammed Jim Seymour and intercepted and returned about 30 yards…
