This weekend marks the 7-year anniversary since our government began welcoming the first Syrian refugees to Canada. It was a proud moment for our country, as we opened our doors and our hearts to those fleeing conflict and persecution.

Once again, during the Holy Month of Ramadan, violence has been brought to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem as innocent Muslim worshipers were trying to pray and practise their faith in peace.
Shocking footage shows large crowds committing acts of Islamophobic violence across numerous states in India this past Sunday. One person died and many were injured. Send a letter today urging our elected leaders to denounce this escalation of violence: https://t.co/z0ZHBIePR1
I am saddened to hear that five men were attacked after finishing the Taraweeh prayers in #Scarb. Muslims should feel safe going to the mosque. Violence has no place in our communities. Hate and Islamophobia are never acceptable. We need to live with peace and harmony

As we approach the fifth anniversary of the national tragedy of the Quebec City mosque shootings at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec City that senselessly took the lives of six of our fellow citizens, we see that Islamophobia continues to be on the rise 1/5

Let's be real - this holiday season has not been easy for anyone...but for some, the needs are simply greater.

Here is an apology from @CMAJ. NCCM awaits a fulsome apology for the content and publication of the article and, more importantly, we reiterate our call and the calls of thousands of others to retract this piece immediately.
Allowing such an Islamophobic article be published by a professional journal will only fuel Islamophobia and put Canadian Muslim women like myself at risk of further discrimination, along with our families.
This is simply wrong.

Criticizing a picture of a young girl in hijab, a (male) opinion writer suggests that such an image represents the oppression of women, child rape, and a host of other condemnable behaviours. 2/
A very problematic article was published by the Canadian Medical Association Journal in its latest issue that has left Canadian Muslims, including the thousands working in Canada's medical profession, in utter shock and dismay. 1/
