It is mutually beneficial for everyone in the community- food insecure and houseless folks, local artists who display their work, the location’s public image “there’s this awesome co-op that has a community food pantry outside” etc.

A Community Food Pantry is a watertight cabinet that stands unlocked outside at location and is stocked with non-perishable food items. It is accessible 24/7 for anyone to take what they need, or put in what they can. It is mutual aid in practice.

Our GDC Local #7 (IWW, General Defence committee) would like to put one in Goshen, we’ll stock it at first, and the community can add to it if they wish. The union will also commission a Goshen artist and pay them to paint it. We would also like to have free union literature.
