@GodswillRed@Alexescasso In what universe should Timothee have won over MBJ who was playing TWO distinct characters? π₯΄ The Marty movie wasn't even great! It didn't win a single thing at the Oscars. Meanwhile, Sinners won several Oscars. To win Best Actor, your film has to win other Oscars
@GodswillRed Btw, I LOVE Tom! He's a cutie and a decent actor. But let's be honest here... Tom wouldn't be where he is today without Marvel and the Spider-Man role. That's just a fact! The other guys you've mentioned have all gotten their fame WITHOUT Marvel and without being a superhero
@GodswillRed Define "greatest" π€ Because an actor can do huge box office numbers but not even be a great actor. And then an actor can do small box office numbers/films, and act their brains off. I think Tom is the biggest movie star of the men you've mentioned, but actor? π₯΄ Idk man lol.
@mattpatatas11@BrunoEscamilla5@ItsJustN1ck HAHAHA!!! ROFL π€£ π π€£ π Good point!! That's what happens when the MCU goes crazy with weird subplot and erasing people's memories, killing off people, and then bringing them back from the dead smh π
@ItsJustN1ck I said the same thing!! π€£ π I was like, how on EARTH is Peter able to afford this huge apt in NYC when most places that size would cost $6,000 a month EASILY!!!
Keep in mind, MJ and Ned actually went to college at MIT and STILL can't afford to live without a roommate! π
@DavidPhire@FilmUpdates Spidey has impressive numbers, but let's ALSO keep in mind that those other DC films are the FIRST of their franchise, while BND is the 4th, and Spider-Man also benefits from a 10-year Marvel machine campaign that DC comics just doesn't have. I don't think it's a fair comparison
@FilmUpdates What on earth is the FIRST biggest opening for a film? π² π±
Also, I can't believe this film made in ONE WEEKEND what most films can't make in 6 WEEKS! OMG π
@Armageddon26@TheCanadianLad Yea, you're absolutely right. I also think that Austin not having a major multi-million franchise to catapult him to massive fame like Tom (Marvel/Spiderman), Rob (Twilight), Zendaya (Marvel/Spiderman), MBJ (Marvel/Creed) is a factor too. He's really doing things old-school.
@Armageddon26@TheCanadianLad I think Austin is already considered A-list just for his Oscar nomination and Golden Globe win alone. He's also worked with some pretty acclaimed directors already.
The only thing he needs now is huge box office numbers for a film he's playing a lead or co-lead in imo.
