Hi @limebike@UberUKI_Support this is the exit route from an event, and our emergency route for that emergency vehicle you can see. Please remove your obstructions of the highway immediately. I'm sure @metpoliceuk can help us if you have any difficulties!
Spent most of this week updating @Salus3Cloud with shifts, stock, staff details & fleet maintenance ahead of our full launch to staff on 1st August. And still lots to do...
Dr. Phil Cowburn MBE, Medical Advisor for NARU, discussed Ten Second Triage and how it can improve the assessment of casualties involved in major incidents today at the @TraumaResus National Fire & Rescue Service Trauma Conference.

@TraumaResus Lesson 1 - turn up.
I mean, given how low that starting point is, literally anything is going to be a win. Even remaining in the station mess wouldn't have been as bad...
@chrisMcG4@ConnorEllisYMSH@hellturn Perhaps your experience. But not ours. We've not found that non-HCPs (on either/both sides of the call) have caused a script to be followed during commander-to-commander or TL-to-TL calls to request support/assistance in either direction.
@chrisMcG4@hellturn@mtthwhgn I accept that the quality of some event healthcare providers is questionable. But CQC reports would suggest similar can be said of some NHS ambulance services. That in itself should not become a barrier to working together - in fact, it means steps should be taken to address it!
@chrisMcG4@hellturn@mtthwhgn Yes, from my experience, working together & cooperation between event healthcare providers & statutory ambulance services has been very difficult, save a small number of exceptions. We always go in with a #JESIP mindset, but are more often than not disappointed by the response.
@chrisMcG4@hellturn@mtthwhgn Ok, so they're trusted/vetted to use their own systems. But they're not trusted/vetted to use mine. If the argument is that I'm not their staff so can't use their systems, then the same must also apply in reverse. It's against the spirit of working together & cooperation...
@chrisMcG4@hellturn@mtthwhgn How does the physical presence of a statutory ambulance service commander speed up the response to an incident, compared to having a robust process for an event healthcare commander to communicate directly with the statutory ambulance service? This is something I've long wondered
@chrisMcG4@hellturn@mtthwhgn There's an argument that the link doesn't need to be a whole human permanently present. If they add value to the event healthcare, yes, they should be there. But if their presence is to tick a box, then why? A link can be provided by radio, phone, or an IT solution...
@chrisMcG4@hellturn@mtthwhgn The value of a statutory ambulance service commander being present (with no other statutory ambulance service resources) is questionable, IMO. What value are they bringing? I've seen some good examples (not many), and I've seen pointless examples...
@n_rh1992@hellturn@mtthwhgn Yep, and, in all fairness, as an event provider, there are some statutory services we don't trust, neither! Respect & trust are two-way streets, and both need to be earned, by both parties...
@ConnorEllisYMSH@hellturn Yep. Almost universal. Except one trust - TOC & I know each other on first name terms. But even then, 1 sector is way better at it than the other sectors in the same trust.
The wider question is that if EPRR know about your event, why are you needing to call up on 999....?
@hellturn Yep, very much the case. I won't name one of the more difficult trusts we deal with, except to say that the area we've dealt with them in *really* should have learnt those lessons.
@hellturn@mtthwhgn As an event healthcare provider, we always provide 2 numbers for Trusts to contact us - primary (known to all staff on site) & backup (known only to them, our staff & event safety team). We ask for at least the same in return (not 999 & 111) but sometimes that's resisted.
