@henrywinter Is it true that spying is commonplace everywhere else?
Bielsa said the same & it seems to have become accepted as fact but I don't recall any foreign managers saying either then or now that it is something they did abroad.
It seems only the people caught think it is common!
@DaleJohnsonBBC@danroan One thing he is right about though; football happily accepts cheating in every game & diving to win a penalty or get a player sent off, wrestling at a corner, are much more likely to have an impact on a game than spying.
@DaleJohnsonBBC I don't know, even tackling from behind and through the opponent might be considered reckless so it does seem the ref was stretching the laws a bit to keep it 11 v 11.
@DaleJohnsonBBC But surely it's the preceding section
'denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick for a non-deliberate handball offence'
@LeeGunner14@DirtyLeedsFC@LeedsZone_ That was a 50/50 call, all clubs get those it's part of the game.
It wasn't a mistake - the ref gave it, VAR agree & so did the Key Incidents panel.
@BBCNews What exactly do you mean by 'free'?
Does the TV license count as a 'subscription'?
Both Sky & Virgin Media have the game available without an additional payment & you'd think most football fans would have access to one of those suppliers so who exactly is missing out?
@DaleJohnsonBBC TBF it's not like teams from the South & North never travel to play each other, they do it every week in the league so as you say an open draw works fine & if it means one team traveling slightly further in R1 that's hardly a problem. No need to overthink it.
@henrywinter I don't subscribe to TNT & I'll be able to watch it for free; as I could last week's Europa Cup final & last night's Conference Final.
Is there any indication of how many people wouldn't actually be able to watch it for free?
@DaleJohnsonBBC You'd think any decisions about the consequences of the IDC decision on the POs would be for the EFL to make, afterall the commission's role was to address charges against SFC not to deliberate about the impact their charges might have, but they don't seem to have done anyway!
