If you've ever been a new member of staff, or a new student, unsure of what to do, then you know how important routines are. They help everyone know how to succeed in a large, complex, busy environment.
📢 Ok, get this...at @SparxMaths we've created the most AWESOME GCSE Crossover Workbooks (1 per strand) to support revision for those Qs that appear on both Foundation and Higher tiers. All you've got to do is like and retweet this and I'll send you your FREE copy next week 📢
I still find the difference between millions and billions to be rather mind-bending.
One million seconds is ~11 days.
One billion seconds is ~31.5 YEARS.
I will repeat this forever. Make yourself an email folder called "Praise." Save ALL the emails people send you complimenting your work, big and small. On the days when it's just really hard and you feel like nothing is going right - that folder will bring you joy!
@Arithmaticks It feels like it’s been a half term of paper work and marking but looking back, it’s been rewarding to be back in the classroom. Easy to get bogged down in the negatives but there have been some real positives and getting nice messages has made it worthwhile #mathscpdchat
Wow 12-year-old Nigerian boy based in the UK, Chika Ofili, has been presented with a Special Recognition Award for making a new discovery in Mathematics.
The little Mathematician just discovered a new formula for divisibility by 7 in Maths
Since lockdown I have loved taking part in these chats, it has been so nice to hear from other maths teachers! Lovely to finish this evening by hearing what people are looking forward to about September and so many people saying the pupils! #mathscpdchat
Pheeewwwww... that FLEW by!
Thank you for your wondefrul contributions, as always.
Have a brilliant and restful summer - this year has been tough and we've all risen to the challenge, but that means we need a rest more than ever!
Stay safe - and see you next year! #mathscpdchat
@Arithmaticks Seeing the pupils and being able to say to them in person just how proud I am of them! And being back in school with staff, I’ve really missed working with other people around! #mathcpdchat
@Arithmaticks Not having my own room! I’ve dug out my teacher box from when I trained so I can carry essentials around with me but really going to miss the comfort of my classroom! #mathscpdchat
@Arithmaticks I think for me it will be getting into a strong routine from the start with classes and form group but think it is useful across the whole school - think communication will be more important than ever! #mathscpdchat
@SHaWMathsHub Was looking for a particular question today and after some searching I found it - this is probably one of my favourites by Don Steward. I was fortunate to hear him talk in my training year and have loved his website since! #beingmathematical
