Afghan women are often shown only as victims, but their lives are much more complex. A group of young women who cannot attend school has become friends with their online English instructor, which has, in turn, changed how she sees strength and independence. Natalie Elvy, the instructor, believes that their stories show that every headline hides a real person with a story worth hearing.
