New blog! Not all names are equal when applying for jobs. Correspondence audits are one of the most reliable methods for detecting discrimination in the first stages of the hiring process. But what are researchers doing to detect these biases?🔎
The organisation @peoplelikeus has recently launched the campaign #NameTheBias to advocate for ethnicity pay gap reporting. Their campaign partly relies on data from a correspondence audit of ethnic discrimination in the British labour market conducted by Valentina Di Stasio @distasio_val @EUI_EU and Anthony Heath @UniofOxford. COMPAS' Mariña Fernández-Reino @MFReino, Sanne van Oosten @SBvanOosten and Paolo Velásquez join forces in the #EqualStrength project, which investigates cumulative and structural forms of #discrimination against ethnic, racial and religious #minorities. Labour market economists have been obsessed with the question of whether technology will replace market demand for human labour.
But my question is different:
What if tech replaces NON-MARKET DEMAND.
And that’s precisely what we see: surging solitude.
Algún investigador/a en institución española ha usado Prolific para encuestas online y cómo ha gestionado el tema de los pagos? Estoy viendo que lo más eficiente es que lo pague yo con mi tarjeta y después solicite reembolso a mi institución. Gracias!
How many unauthorised migrants are there in the UK? How can one become an unauthorised migrant? What motivates unauthorised migrants, or how do they respond to policies like the hostile environment? We tackle these and key important questions in our updated briefing (link below)
"We're all like Detectives in life. There's something at the end of the trail that we're all looking for" - David Lynch.
Rest in Peace David Lynch. Thank you for the amazing movies and television that no one but you could give the world.
