This paragraph from Carl Jung hits so hard.
“The world is full of people suffering from the effects of their own unlived life. They become bitter, critical, or rigid, not because the world is cruel to them, but because they have betrayed their own inner possibilities. The artist who never makes art becomes cynical about those who do. The lover who never risks loving mocks romance. The thinker who never commits to a philosophy sneers at belief itself. And yet, all of them suffer, because deep down they know: the life they mock is the life they were meant to live.”
Iran is a seasoned adult on the world stage. 7,000 years old. Entire civilizations have risen, grown old and senile, and crumbled in a moment of Iran’s history. China, India, Egypt, as a matter of fact the entirety of Africa, because Africa is our mother and everything traces back to it. Greece, Italy, the indigenous of the Americas. These are people who’ve been around and seen shit. The United States, on the other hand, is 249 years old. A destructive teenager. Israel is its baby brother. Both are bastards of the British.
@tanakaburner@jalwynarchives They worship Taylor like she’s above critique, blind to the world outside. There’s a literal genocide happening, yet they have takes on everything except that.
@tanakaburner@jalwynarchives I wrote my Master’s thesis on celebrity worship & personality development. Later, with my French father (a PhD in philosophy), I studied how Napoleon’s fandom during the Revolution became a cult. The parallels with Swifties today are striking.
@tanakaburner@jalwynarchives Swifties won't hold TS to that standard...
He's a kind gentleman, now I get it it would be difficult to be with someone who opposes a genocide. That would be bad for her in her Zionist circle
@emancipatedhaya Actually dear its a big misconception, MSG was invented by the Japanese, but the Chinese used it widely because it was a cheap and economical option for those with lower incomes.
@emancipatedhaya He is of Egyptian origin???? 😲Can I say I never liked him from the start? I came to know about him since I started learning about Palestine. As a clinical psychologist, he always rubbed me the wrong way. Something about his whole passive-aggressive persona, it's fishy.
Just realizing how deep the hate runs between Afghans and Pakistanis, way more than I expected. Is it mostly fallout from the NATO/war years or deeper historical/political layers? 👀
@jacksonhinkle Pakistan suffered because of them too. Pakistan and Iran both hosted millions of Afghan refugees and in return they conspired against us. They would sell themselves for few $$$ ,,, Never trust them again
