What we are witnessing, and what we must confront in Europe, is a very specific disease: I call it a non-existent narrated world.

In it, European political and buraucratic elites live in a universe created by think tanks, consultants, academia and PR agencies, where carefully crafted discourse substitutes for any contrarian thought, and public aesthetics for deep-diving analysis. Summits on crisis management, rescue packages and newly founded groups, well-crafted speeches from conferences and close-door events: that’s the stuff of the narrated world. They give themselves the feeling of doing something, when they're actually doing nothing. They've achieved nothing in the real world as we can see in terms of the gradual Europe's geopolitical and geoeconomic decline.

That’s why in Europe, in the middle of the worst comprehensive hybrid war by Russia and the worst conventional war on Ukraine since WWI, we’re still arguing whether the Second Cold War between the US and China or the DragonBear - the China-Russia axis, are even real, whereas in Washington they’re already making concrete steps how to win it. And it is why the EU and its political elites have mastered the language of risk mitigation and strategic passivity, while fully forgetting the grammar of hard power and realpolitik.
