openai should sell codex resets as a paid feature.

a simple store inside of codex where you can buy resets at a fixed price.

some rules:

— cap it at upto 2 resets per account per month to prevent reselling and abuse. only one can be bought at a time, not both together.
— pricing should scale with your plan. a plus reset should cost less than a pro reset, since pro already gets more usage per reset. and if you upgrade your pla, any bought resets should expire immediately so people can't stack cheap resets and abuse higher limits after upgrading.
— to buy one, your usage has to be low. plus users need ≤25% usage remaining, pro users need ≤10% usage remaining. that keeps it need based, not something people buy preemptively to stockpile.
— bought resets should also expire in 12 hours, which further kills any reselling potential.

users get flexibility beyond their limits without upgrading their entire plan. openai gets extra revenue from people already clearly willing to pay for more compute. everyone wins.
