A disability ended my career. I worked in marketing for TV news, so it turned out to be good for me that I had to leave. Don't let anyone manipulate you.
@BenacciMatt@SandyofCthulhu That’s an astute point. So much vanity and ego in that world. I dearly miss the craft of what I did, but I don’t miss the environment I did it in.
@BenacciMatt@SandyofCthulhu I would watch marketing & sales pros, who are literally experts in manipulation, be so easily manipulated by what was clearly a dangling carrot on a string. The “consultants” provide the illusion of improvement, without actually improving, then come back for more.
@SandyofCthulhu Consultants are basically parasites who convince the host (media companies) to willingly accept them. Then, manipulate the host into thinking they’ll die without them.
@TheStingisBack Commando is not a “it’s so bad, that it’s good” movie. This is “it’s so bad, that it’s fucking glorious!!!” I thoroughly recommend every minute of this absurd masterpiece.
@Nerdrotics I left California in 2012, and did so with unbridled glee. It’s gotten far worse since. SF smelled like bum urine and low tide. I can’t imagine how bad it is now 🤮
@blue__jest Because they’re miserable, insecure people who think they’re displaying superiority. “I am a TRUE fan, who ACTUALLY understands it, unlike all YOU idiots with no taste” is what they think they say, but the rest of us hear “I’m a sad and pathetic loser.”
