Next up, @SASsoftware's @JennChase talks about the company's role in the Data for Good movement, which encourages using data in meaningful ways to solve humanitarian issues around poverty, health, human rights, education, and the environment. #Brandweek 🏝 https://t.co/5DODYRSnQ3
SAS’ Batting Lab helped kids improve their swing and their data literacy by collecting data on elite players' swings and teaching the kids about it. “It also allowed us to tell the story of the power of data and data literacy.”

@gputman@nytimes@Nike Point in case: this guy, when handed 100 Deutsche Mark welcome money after the Berlin wall came down, could have spent it on ANYTHING but choose a pair of @Nike sneakers. Few #brands transcend decades and generations like #Nike.
Huge shout-out to @MGoolsbey for hosting best-selling author, speaker, & brand strategy guru Peter Field at @SASsoftware today. Loved hearing Peter's research and insights firsthand and especially appreciated his counsel for us to keep pushing the emotional button of curiosity.
There is a crisis in marketing that most are ignorant of. Zero strategy and non existent briefing skills. Ad agencies have known about both issues for decades. Now data collection firms it. my column for @MarketingWeekEd discusses it: https://t.co/Th5EiRHZJq
“And the cosy, lifelong marriage of brand loyalty has been replaced with the erratic, insecure excitement of ongoing polygamy. Never has Ehrenberg-Bass been racier.” Love it. This will be interesting to watch as we put facts against emotions.
Bang on, @markritson. Peter Field and I found that, of all the brand metrics that advertisers commonly track, “trust” is the one that is LEAST correlated with business success. Campaigns that focus on improving trust tend to underperform.
Never got into watching NBA, but absolutely impressed by this deep understanding of the cultural roots and history by the NBA Marketing and agency team. Massive hat tip. Hey @gputman this has to be gold for you. https://t.co/5I9jcIODhH
