March was a rough mental health month for me. No tangible reason, I'm just tired/burnt out and I'm working on accepting the highs and lows and being transparent about both. To med students feeling the same, you aren't alone & we got this ❤️
First week in Goose Bay has flown by! So happy to be home in Labrador for my rural family med rotation 🩺💞
Here's a sunrise pic from earlier this week for all to admire 🌞 #ruralmedicine#MedTwitter
Today is my last official day of my IM rotation! It was such a great experience filled with lots of "firsts" and plenty of learning.
From code strokes with the neuro team to casting in the ER and all the low K+ in between, thank you to everyone who made this rotation amazing ❤️
Rotation #2 ✅
Psychiatry was a great learning opportunity that really focused on the importance of SDoH in healthcare and the value behind interdisciplinary teams, which I really enjoyed!
Next up, Internal Med! 🧠🫀🫁
It feels like people don’t understand that furries have nothing to do with gender identity. Intentionally conflating these concepts is transphobia & jeopardizes the safety of trans and gender diverse children, who are already subjugated & vulnerable in so many other ways. 1/2
Today I finished my first clerkship rotation in OBS/GYNE!
Absolutely loved the variability and learning opportunities that the specialty offers and I know that's something I want to incorporate in my future career 🥰
Next up, psychiatry! 🧠
Just coming home from my first day of clerkship (and my first call shift) w/ OBS! Got to scrub in twice and I saw my first live birth. Still on a high thinking about it. Loving the hands on learning so far 🙌
All blue skies and fun (educational!) times out in St Mary's today! So grateful for the opportunity to do my placement in Holyrood and St Mary's - it's been great to practice my clinical skills and connect with patients! 🩺😊
My research paper is submitted to my supervisor and now I'm off to my first day of Black Bag in Holyrood, NL! Super nervous, mostly excited to have some hands on experience with patients ❤️🩹
Learning how to put in IVs at FMIG's Procedure Day! It's been great being so hands on today, so grateful for this opportunity! 💉 @MUNMed#FamilyMedicine#MedTwitter
