Division Avenue is temporarily closed from Fonger Street to 11 Mile Road due to water over the road. Therefore, the 10 Mile Road/Pine Island Drive roundabout project detour has been adjusted, with Alpine Avenue replacing the Division Avenue segment of the detour.
Last night’s severe weather brought down trees, power lines and displaced work zone signs across Kent County. Crews responded overnight and continue today. Watch for debris, never drive through standing water, and call 911 for immediate hazards.

Morning temperatures just below freezing have crews applying material on state routes and targeted county locations, including bridge decks, hills, stops and curves. With temperatures expected to climb near 50 degrees, conditions should improve quickly throughout the day.
Patchy freezing rain is possible overnight through Thursday morning. Temperatures will be marginal but if they drop to, or below, freezing then there is the potential for icing. The best chances for icing will be on bridges and overpasses. Roads may be slick so use caution
KCRC crews worked overnight clearing tree limbs and debris from Kent County roads following high winds. Crews will continue debris removal today under a High Wind Advisory. Mixed precipitation is expected through the day. Use caution and watch for large debris along commute.
Wind gusts of 50-60 mph are likely from Thursday Night through Friday Evening. Scattered power outages are likely as tree limbs are downed, and unsecured objects may be blown around. Secure outdoor items and use caution when driving.

There is a risk for severe storms tonight. Damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes & minor flooding will all be possible. The highest risk for tornadoes is along & south of I-94. Make sure you have a way to receive warnings that can wake you up along with a shelter plan. #miwx
Showers and thunderstorms are possible later Friday into Saturday as a warm front moves through. KCRC crews will monitor conditions and respond to debris or ponding if needed. Drivers should watch for changing conditions and use caution.
Several rounds of storms expected tomorrow into early Saturday. Some of those storms could be strong to severe. One round Friday afternoon and evening, another overnight into Saturday. Damaging winds, and hail are the main threats though a few brief, weak tornadoes are possible.
