The digital world offers children immense opportunities — access to knowledge, openness and connection.

But it also brings real risks: harmful content, cyberbullying, misinformation, hate speech, addictive design and new challenges linked to AI.

Bans alone cannot answer these challenges. Families need guidance, education and confidence.

That is why it was a great pleasure to launch today,  a new guide developed by @UNESCO and @LeCLEMI, Growing Up in a Connected World  that helps families navigate the digital world through media and information literacy.

This work is part of UNESCO’s broader action to advance Media and Information Literacy, promote rights-based digital governance, protect young people online and support safer, more human-centred digital spaces.
