in my testing, deepseek crushes western models on ancient chinese philosophy and literature, while also having a much stronger command of english than my first-hand chinese sources. it feels like communing with literary/historical/philosophical knowledge across generations that i never had access to before. it's quite emotionally moving. it makes sense too, western labs dont care about training on chinese data (but chinese labs train on both). remember that china has several thousand years more of literary history than the west does (because we lost the majority of our roman/greek/egyptian literature and china preserved theirs). basically; our AI models are missing the literary foundations of western thought, but the chinese models have theirs intact. this could be both a classical "data advantage" and a less-obvious advantage for spiritual and philosophical self-actualization.

A newly scored version is being shared as our submission for @Optimism onchain art competition - and as a tribute to the end of Season 1 and an ode to Season 2.

We've been blessed to see 9,827 editions minted on Optimism across 9 songs - netting in 48.44 ETH of volume from 1,725 unique collectors.

There’s always been an interesting tension between an artist’s ability to make ends meet, and their ability to be authentic. In the traditional music industry, the small amount you make from streaming paired with the countless middlemen makes it nearly impossible to earn a living, which is why most people resort to the philosophy of “get as many plays as possible at all costs”

This is really unfortunate because the thing that takes a hit is authenticity, experimentation, and novelty. Music has become extremely watered down and we see this as the promise of releasing music onchain.

Through onchain music we’ve been able to connect with fans directly, making a win win scenario for both fans and artists. We get to make weirder music, and fans are more connected to the artists they love. We really believe these small vibrant niches are the way to keep music new and fresh, and allow more artists to make a living doing what they love.

Citadel is our sign-off as we embark on a multi-month journey to embark on the creation of Season 2 and scaling our brand from a purely onchain audience to a globally recognized brand that can bring these intentions to the rest of the world.
