Congratulations to students who received a certificate for attending our English Club! This after school club is led by Ms Ali twice a week. Young people get additional support with English as an Additional Language (EAL). 🤩

Our ESOL students enjoyed taking part in a workshop on recycling and top tips on being greener. ♻️

Erika from @ManCityCouncil delivered a presentation and they all took a certificate home afterwards.

Congrats to the winners of our Create a Vegetarian Recipe competition! Our first prize winner is Eman for her sweetcorn & courgette fritter, which will be made by our canteen team on Wednesday. Kaleab was runner-up with his Greek loaded fries dish, fantastic effort! @ColinPort1

To support our 'Plastic Free Day' on Friday 5th May, ESOL A and B students have made posters that will be displayed in the school hall.
Students have also shared ideas on how to reduce plastic waste in school and in our community.

ESOL A put in practice British values today via a democratic vote to elect their Class Representatives.
Results:
Class Rep: Abdulla
Deputy Class Rep: Munirah
All 5 candidates developed their oracy skills by giving a speech and by answering many questions.

Muath has made Manchester Magic today!
Last night, he spent a long time making a help sheet for a new student who speaks Cantonese only. Muath did this on his own initiative, using an online video for support.
Muath is a fantastic ambassador for British values!

Last month, ESOL B and ESOL C students studied healthcare. They finished their lessons on symptoms and remedies with a fantastic role play.

On 14th December, Induction A went on a trip to the Powerhouse Library in Moss Side. After meeting with Sylvia, the library manager, students went on a brilliant book hunt. They also borrowed books that we will read in school and each got a library card. @McrAcademy

Induction students bought lots of cakes to support the Year 9's bake sale this week. £135.66 will be donated to the Christie Hospital. Maryam A., Almas B. and Musa M. have been awarded a Community Citizen certificate for going the extra mile to help raising money for the charity.
