Joint Delegation of Prominent Muslim Organisations met with Mr. Shad Joynal Abedin, Political Counsellor of French Embassy in India.

Delegation urged the government of France to play the concrete and meaningful role in helping to end the suffering in Gaza. On behalf of peace and justice loving citizens and Muslim Organisations of India, through Embassy, following demands were made to the government of France.

1. Take a strong moral stand on the ongoing violence: Issue a public statement expressing grave concern over the indiscriminate use of force in Gaza, including attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, which violate international humanitarian law and deepen the crisis.

2. Support accountability: Endorse the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and support the UN General Assembly’s call to end Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian territories.

3. Sever ties with Israel: Suspend military, economic, and diplomatic engagements with Israel until it complies with international law and ceases its aggression in Gaza.

4. Provide humanitarian aid: Commit substantial resources to relief efforts, including funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and advocate for the immediate opening of humanitarian corridors to deliver food, water, fuel, and medical supplies.

5. Advocate for Palestinian rights and self-determination: Uphold the Palestinian people’s right, as recognized under international law, to resist occupation and govern their own affairs through their legitimately elected representatives, ensuring dignity, sovereignty, and the right to determine their own future.

Delegation comprises of Syed Sadatullah Hussaini, National President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Dr. SQar Ilyas (Spokesperson, AIMPLB), Maulana Mohammad Nadeem Siddiqui Salfi (President, Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadees, Delhi), Mohammad Shafi Madni (National Secretary, JIH), Adv.
