BREAKING: The Two Tennessee state lawmakers, Justin Jones (D-Nashville) and Justin Pearson (D-Memphis), who were expelled from the state legislature earlier this year for their protest of gun violence, have just easily won a special primary election.
- Justin Jones ran unopposed
- Justin Pearson won 94% of the vote.
While the Tennessee GOP thought they were winning, all they did was empower these two men. It is now very likely both win the general election in August.
This is a helpful reminder. My personal mantra is: "I am what authority looks like. I am what authority sounds like." Because it's (still) not always obvious to everyone else.
