We are delighted to announce that the open-source SPH code, DualSPHysics+, which is a modified version of the open-source DualSPHysics code @DualSPHysics, has been further enhanced to model hydroelastic FSI problems.
The main novel feature corresponds to a tuning-parameter free and dynamic hourglass control, abbreviated as DHGC, which takes in the history of an error function at each computational point.

In our latest published article published in Computational Particle Mechanics, we present an improved Updated Lagrangian SPH (ULSPH) for elastic structural dynamics. This improved ULSPH is established by targeting four numerical aspects corresponding to the original ULSPH:
i) incompleteness of approximations, ii) pressure instability, iii) rank deficiency, iv) tensile instability.
The improved ULSPH, namely, the delta-ULSPH-R-TIC, is shown to provide reliable results even for challenging problems that include structural impacts in presence of material discontinuities.
It was a great honour for me to co-author this paper with leading experts in the field including Professor Javier Bonet.

The importance of graphical abstracts should never be underestimated as they can present the main contributions of a scientific journal paper, concisely, informatively and pictorially.
In our team I always enjoyed this final step, namely, discussions with my colleagues on preparation and finalisation of a proper and informative graphical abstract. Discussions that sometimes lasted for more than a week. We prepared graphical abstracts based on the Elsevier guidelines (https://t.co/gEbIEf56Dh) often in resolutions higher than 600 or even 1200 dpi! However, the final published graphical abstract was tremendously lower in clarity and resolution.
Certainly, this tweet is not a complaint to the Elsevier journal production teams (because I understand they have their own policy and strategies); on the contrary, a positive tweet on the benefits of Graphical Abstracts.
