#Pakistan: In 1984, General Zia ul Haq issued Ordinance XX that further targeted Ahmadi Muslims by making it a criminal offence, punishable by three years imprisonment (or by death under the Blasphemy Laws), for any Ahmadi who “directly or indirectly poses himself as Muslim”.
It is a criminal offence for Ahmadis in #Pakistan to:
- Call themselves Muslims
- Refer to their faith as Islam
- Call their place of worship a ‘Mosque’
- Make call for prayers (Adhan)
- Say Islamic greeting ‘Assalamo alaikum (Peace be on you)
- Preach or propagate their faith
Since General Zia ul Haq issued Ordinance XX in 1984, 260 Ahmadi Mulsims have been murdered for their faith in #Pakistan.

In March 2018, members of @UKMuslimYouth held a 24hr football fundraiser in memory of the victims of the heinous #Manchester#MEN attacks.
A year on, we stand with our brothers & sisters to remember those that so tragically lost their lives.

Even while fasting for long hours (17.5 hours to be exact!), four of our youth went to Central London to pack, deliver and distribute chicken pasta to 63 homeless people!
The blessed month of #Ramadan is about giving to those who do not have the luxury of a simple meal. Our Youth, whilst observing the fast, continue their tradition of feeding the homeless in Central London
One year on from the tragic attack in #Manchester AMYA commemorates the victims of the brutal attack at the #MEN and stands shoulder to shoulder with the loved ones that it no doubt will impact for ever.
