I'm going to predict that when the damage assessment is complete, well into the future, Trump's greatest crime will prove to be espionage - AND - it will be the most catastrophic breach of national security in American history.
We will discover he passed secrets to Russia from day 1 because he was compromised; and did favors for the Saudis shortly after, purely for personal profit; and who knows what the hell else.
His many Useful Idiocies will boggle the mind. And his America First gaslight will be remembered as it should be remembered: "Trump Before America, facilitated by idiots who called themselves patriots."
His treachery - most done purely for power and profit, and some from pathology, revenge, and entitlement, will have massively impacted the globe, permanently shifted wealth, and cost many millions of lives.
I have to add that a good deal of it would not have happened but for our legacy media's consistent and widespread normalization of his disorders.

Many of my Republican colleagues champion “merit” - meeting basic standards for a job.
The Surgeon General MUST be a member of the USPHS Commissioned Corps. To serve as a physician in the Corps, you MUST hold an active medical license.

I -and every prior SG- was held to that standard.

If the administration lowers (or creates a back door around) those standards, and the Senate confirms Casey Means (who has let her license go inactive and didn't complete residency), they undermine every argument they've made about merit, standards, and opposing “DEI” shortcuts. 🤷🏽‍♂️

My kids are Asian American.

They play the piano but I presume it does nothing for their college apps. A bazillion people play the piano, it isn't differentiating. I made my kids take piano lessons to learn at an early age that doing new things is hard and frustrating, but if they work hard and practice a lot, it gets easier and then it's fun for life. It's a life lesson, not a grinding thing. They could have learned this by doing lots of other things too, but I also love music and that I can play anything by ear, and I wanted them to have that too.

I make my kids care a lot about their grades, because I want them to care about anything they spend their time doing and to learn to try their absolute best at anything they do. It doesn't matter to me if their grades suck as long as they put in real effort. That's not grinding, that's just a life lesson about giving a shit about what you spend your time on. My daughter loves to sing and dance now, odds are it's not a career for her but she tries her absolute best and I know where she got that from.

People think Asian parents just care about the outcome of getting into college or landing some white collar career. Maybe it's true for other Asian parents, I don't know. For me I want them to grind on the things they care about because learning the process of grinding will make them better at whatever they end up wanting to do , whatever it is. I don't want to raise a bunch of whiners who don't put in the work and then expect participation trophies.

Odds are so stacked against my kids getting into a top school anyway, especially for my son who likes stem stuff. I tell him he should just go to community college or even skip college and just learn whatever he needs to learn using books/internet/AI and finding a grunt job in the industry to get experience. Truth is there is a possibility all the jobs as we know it won't even exist because of AI, so really I think people are giving way too much a shit about something that might not even matter in the future. I primarily want my kids to go to a good college just so they can find smart lifelong friends.

Mainly I want them to find things in life that they would do for free, and figure out a way to turn those things into their career. Really the truly scarce resource is time not money. I don't want them to find ways to make money I want them to find ways to happily spend their time.

My kids are creative, don't know what these people are talking about when they say my kids get good grades so they must just be robots that memorize shit and don't really understand things well enough to be creative at anything. I myself had a 4.6 in high school, took 8 or 9 Apps that I got 5s on, had high SAT scores, went to Berkeley where I got an award as the top overall engineering graduate. Six years later Entertainment Weekly had me on a list of the top 100 most creative people in entertainment. Am I that creative? Probably not, but anyone making the statement Asians aren't creative can tell me what publication called them creative.

All this "Asians are xyz" shit is really tiresome... and for the record my kids don't cheat they sometimes get lousy scores, and then I spend a lot of time and effort trying to help them. I try very hard to instill in them that they should never lie and that cheating is just cheating themselves because the grades don't matter but not learning things does. I'm honest with people, I try to be nice, I help people whenever I can

We volunteer to help people, and my kids will not start a bogus club or nonprofit.

These are my values. They don't sound to me like all the weird shit I've seen posted, making presumptions about us because we are of Asian descent. If you don't like how I raise my kids and don't want your kids near mine, that is your right and absolutely fine. Do what you want, but stop thinking you know shit about me, and for the love of God, stop whining. ✌️

BREAKING: MAGA lunatics target Renee Good’s 6-year-old child by flooding his school with harassment and threats — forcing them to switch to online-only classes.

If you were wondering how low MAGA outrage culture can sink, here’s your answer: they’re terrorizing a 26-student elementary school because a grieving 6-year-old goes there.

After Minnesota mother Renee Good was shot and killed by a federal immigration officer, profit-hungry right-wing media and callous MAGA influencers didn’t stop at smearing her. They went after her son’s school, too.

Southside Family Charter School, a small, community-centered K-5 school where kids eat meals together, mentor one another, and take field trips, was forced to move classes online after a flood of threats poured in. Why? Because the New York Post and MAGA social media mobs decided the school’s social justice curriculum made it a political target.

Let that sink in: a school teaching kids empathy and history is now being treated like a crime scene.

The school’s “offense”? Teaching about George Floyd’s murder. Posting a sign reminding ICE that they need a judicial warrant to enter. Encouraging staff to follow the law and protect students. In MAGA world, that’s apparently enough to justify threats, harassment, and calls to defund a school full of children.

Right-wing accounts went full conspiracy mode, claiming without evidence that Renee Good was a “domestic terrorist,” that the school “trained” her to fight federal agents, and that her death was somehow justified. One TikTok pushing this garbage racked up more than 100,000 views.

And then came the feckless politicians.

Republican Rep. Buddy Carter of Georgia, safely hundreds of miles away, demanded that all federal funding be stripped from the school, calling it “anti-American.” Because nothing screams patriotism like punishing traumatized kids and educators for not worshipping ICE.

This is the MAGA playbook in plain sight:
Dehumanize the victim.
Smear the community.
Target the children.

School leaders, who are trying to grieve while protecting their students, shut down social media and pulled their online presence just to stop the threats. Still, they emphasized what MAGA rage can’t erase — the fact that the community has rallied around them.

This isn’t about safety. It’s not about education. It’s not about the law. It’s about sending a message: If you question authority, teach history honestly, or dare to humanize immigrants, MAGA will come for you—even if you’re a tiny school full of children mourning their friend’s mom.

They silenced Renee Good with bullets; now they’re trying to silence her son’s classroom with false words.

“I was Alex Pretti’s final nursing student. He was my friend and my nursing mentor. For the past four months, I stood shoulder to shoulder with him during my capstone preceptorship at the Minneapolis VA Hospital. There he trained me to care for the sickest of the sick as an ICU nurse. He taught me how to care for arterial and central lines, the intricacies of managing multiple IVs filled with lifesaving solutions, and how to watch over every heartbeat, every breath, and every flicker of life, ready to act the moment they wavered. Techniques intended to heal.

Alex carried patience, compassion and calm as a steady light within him. Even at the very end, that light was there. I recognized his familiar stillness and signature calm composure shining through during those unbearable final moments captured on camera.

It does not surprise me that his final words were, “Are you okay?” Caring for people was at the core of who he was. He was incapable of causing harm. He lived a life of healing, and he lived it well.

Alex believed strongly in the Second Amendment and in the rights rooted in our Constitution and its amendments. He spoke out for justice and peace whenever he could, not only out of obligation, but out of a belief that we are more connected than divided, and that communication would bring us together.

I want his family to know his legacy lives on. I am a better nurse because of the wisdom and skills he instilled in me. I carry his light with me into every room, letting it guide and steady my hands as I heal and care for those in need.

Please honor my friend by standing up for peace, preferably with a cup of black coffee in hand and a couple of pieces of candy in your pocket, just as he would. He would remind you that caring for others is hard work, and we must do whatever it takes to get through the long shifts. Step outside with your dog, breathe in the world, hike or bike as he loved to do, and let yourself find peace in the quiet moments within nature. Stand up for justice and speak with those whose views differ from your own. Hold your beliefs with strength, but always extend love outward, even in the face of adversity.

Take one step, no matter how small, to help heal our world. Through these acts, carry his light forward in his name. Let his legacy continue to heal.”
