Sovereign space capability is not defined by one launch. It is the ability to unlock space on your own terms. With our 40,000 m² headquarters, which will produce up to 40 rockets per year when fully ramped up, we are building the foundation of Europe’s space industry.
Manufacturing for Nova is in full swing — upgraded Zenith complete, Andromeda’s base heat shield wrapped, Stage 2 structural testing commences. Progress everywhere you look from the rocket factory and beyond. 🚀🏭

PHOENIX 1 Integration completed.
Our AIT team on-site has successfully completed the flight integration of our PHOENIX 1 capsule to @SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, in collaboration with our integration partner @Exolaunch. The capsule is ready to launch aboard the upcoming Bandwagon-3 rideshare mission.
We're grateful to Carolyn de Oliveira Baumann and Anna-Christina Preg from Exolaunch for their expert support in ensuring a seamless integration process 🔗
A huge shoutout over the Atlantic Ocean to our Launch Team, led by our Lead Systems Engineer Chris Grimm, and joined by our CTO Jeffrey Hendrikse, as well as our Head of Structures Thomas Kern, our Systems Engineer Pushya Subramanyam, our Avionics Architect Eenesh Chavan and our Payload Manager Thibault Kiehl for locking us in! 🔒
GO PHOENIX!

CAPSULE ARRIVED!
PHOENIX 1 and our AIT team have safely reached the launch site to perform the integration of our prototype together with our launch integrator @Exolaunch to get ready for the exciting next phase.
To avoid speculation: our team traveled on a commercial flight – not a container ;)
While we are currently performing numerous pre-flight checks and rehearsals in various team constellations to prepare for gathering critical flight data, we are engaged in a new segment for this mission.
A detailed update will be communicated shortly.
GO PHOENIX!

Our first flight is just around the corner - so let's talk about - literally - one of the hottest topics out there: RE-ENTRY 🔥 Welcome the ATMOS' Science Corner 👩🔬
Handling the extreme temperatures and pressure conditions of atmospheric re-entry is one of the biggest challenges in our work. Let us take you through it:
When our PHOENIX return capsule enters Earth's atmosphere at about ~7800 m/s (> Mach 20!), it is exposed to intense heat and pressure. The blunt design of our capsule and our very large cross section create a detached bow shock a few centimeters from our heat shield, generating a wide subsequent flow of plasma surrounding the capsule that protects it from destructive heat.
FIRST 3 MINUTES OF RE-ENTRY
Within the first 3 minutes of re-entry, our heat shield reaches a peak temperature of ~1000 °C, while temperature in the plasma around it exceeds 20,000 °C. As PHOENIX descends into lower altitudes of the atmosphere, it uses air inlets to lead boundary layer air into our hot air compressors, allowing us to pressurize our Inflatable Heat Shield to ensure shape stability throughout all stages of descent.
FIRST 10 MINUTES OF RE-ENTRY
Within the first 10 minutes of re-entry, our spacecraft dissipates 99% of its kinetic energy, decelerating to subsonic velocities. Afterwards, it descends further through the lower parts of the atmosphere without any parachute for a soft and safe landing in the ocean.
HOW WE GET THERE
Exploring the limits of what is physically possible to deliver the most cost- and payload-efficient return solution drives us to continuously advance the design of our PHOENIX' core technology and materials.
Extensive evaluation campaigns, including thermal material testing, plasma wind tunnel trials, atmospheric drop tests and a series of system level environmental tests, have prepared PHOENIX for the extreme re-entry conditions within a record time of only 12 months.
PHOENIX is GO for launch 🐦🔥

To be clear we are *far* from anything being settled, but based on what I'm hearing it seems at least 50-50 that NASA's Space Launch System rocket will be canceled. Not Block 1B. Not Block 2. All of it. There are other ways to get Orion to the Moon.
Colibri has reached 100 meters! 🚀🎉
In 60 seconds, it climbed to 105m, diverted 30m north, and safely landed back to its pad. This is the flight we promised from day one, while no reusable rocket has flown freely in Europe yet!
We did it with a tiny team and under 250kCHF! 😉
First free-flying rocket hopper in Europe! 🚀
Our student team just completed 6 free flights in 2 days—no private company or public agency has done it before in Europe! 🔥💪
Flight data looks good, and we're ready to go higher! 🆙
