Obtain a boxing license, sue under the Ali Act to void the contract, sue to have promotional agreements declared personal service contacts, set up a promotional company. . .
And a few more things just off the top of my mind—not that we’ve thought about it. . .
@robnashville "TKO expects to lose about $30 million on UFC Freedom 250, even after securing high-profile sponsorship deals from the likes of Ram Trucks, Crypto dot com and Monster Energy." Anyone know why the broadcaster licensing fees are not included in this analysis?
💰 📀 Dana White reveals the UFC’s first big financial breakthrough came from highlight DVDs, with knockout and submission compilations bringing in millions:
“I think we could have capitalized on the DVD business better than we did. But we were young and new to the whole production world.
If I could go back now with what I know today, I would have absolutely murdered the DVD era."

It’s attempted monopoly 101
Overpay big names up front.
Establish credibility.
Have public perceive your in house titles as the true ones.
Then exploit.
Wrong way to look at the Delaware ruling against WWE & TKO for evidence spoliation. J. Travis Laster gave the blueprint for other ongoing litigation regarding Rule 37(e) sanctions. That's the real worry. The Icahn (DE), Altshares (CA), UFC (NV) cases. Pattern of similar behavior.
I hope the MLB Players Association will just say no to the salary cap. They are the product and have created far more value than they are paid for.
Owners have been hiding profits for years, especially the ones who acquired real estate around their ballparks.
The owners put out a hard salary cap and salary floor proposal.
Utter garbage. The players hopefully have the stones to say no.
Competitive balance has nothing to do with it…the owners know it’s a moneymaker for them.
Viewership is up. Revenues are up. The game isn’t faltering. The owners don’t need a cap…they just want the money it’ll make them.
The hard cap number is ridiculously low. The salary floor just gives owners in the middle a codified excuse to let their payroll drift down toward the floor.
Yup, the MLBPA is not ready for how much fans are going to side with the owners thru this process, something players have never dealt with during CBA negotiations.
It’s always been owners vs everybody but not this time.
So all this is about cheaper owners making more money and if u are a fan who wants this all you are doing is saying ' i think billionaires should make more and players less ' #MLB
More from the MLBPA: "Billionaire owners are not seeking to cap their profits or asset values, only player salaries. This isn’t out of generosity or a desire to protect the game’s well-being. It’s a play to control costs, increase profits and maximize franchise values..."
From the TIME story:
(Dana) White has invited Adam Sandler, Guy Ritchie, Tom Brady, Jared Leto, Jason Statham, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Mario Lopez (to the White House card).
Coker is genuinely not wired like the other promoters.
I've watched him work a room at a fight week presser. He compliments other promotions without flinching. He talks about fighters from rival organizations like they're athletes he respects, not problems he needs to solve.
That's strange in this industry.
Genuinely strange.
Dana White on the sanctioning bodies: If we have a fighter that comes in and he has the belt and he wants to try to keep it, work with them, then we'll try to work with them, if we can. If we can, we can. If we can't, we can't.
