@Denche2005 No sector, no segment, no speciality will be spared. Anything humans can do, AI will soon do far better and at a fraction of the cost. It's over...for all of us.
@TheXFilesReboot Once you have had a show with two perfect actors/characters, you can't reboot it. No matter what you do, you'll never manage to rise to that same level again - and you'll just disappoint literally everyone that watches because of it. (Hint: They should already know this)
@drantbradley Schooling is done - all of it. Three years from now, most colleges and universities will be well into the process of shutting down. Five years from now, all of them will be gone. It's over.
@davidpattersonx Once yet again, this only proves that the performance of a model is based far more on the advancement inside that model than it is on underlying, raw computational power. The future of AI doesn't lie in larger data centers, it lies in developing better/more efficient models.
Please do not open Anna's Archive tonight. I'm serious.
You will lose your entire weekend.
Someone who only calls herself Anna built it in November 2022, days after the US government seized Z-Library's websites. Today it holds 72 million books and 239 million research papers behind one search bar.
So for your own good:
> Don't search the textbook that cost you $180
> Don't look up the paper hiding behind a $40 paywall
> Don't find the out-of-print book your grandfather loved
> Don't type the title you've "been meaning to read" since 2019
Because it's probably there.
And then you lose your favorite excuse. You'd actually have to read the thing.
Everybody says they'd learn more if books weren't so expensive. Anna's Archive is the meanest test of that sentence ever built.
Stay away. Keep your excuses safe.
@unusual_whales And this is the real beauty of AI: it's not limited in any way by the constraints of human perception or thinking. This is a big part of what makes it so incredibly valuable and powerful.
@MaximeSolemn Exactly, and that's what I think so many have missed here. The AI of today is NOT the AI of 2022 and 2023. It's not perfect, but it has VASTLY improved. Well, where do you think it will be five years from now? We aren't ready for what's coming in the AI space - none of us are.
@samueleyekosi You HAVE to stick around. This is literally the most interesting time in all of human history and the excitement/fun has barely even just begun. You'll want to stick around for this, if for no other reason just to see how bad things actually get. You'll want to be witness to it.
Everyone loves to say, "Oh, if AI gets too powerful, we can just unplug it and turn it off." Very soon though, that won't actually be the case. Far too many elements of our society will have become entirely dependent on it. Soon, we won't have the option of turning it off - ever.
@EliHunter92158@ekwufinance Oh, we know that they do. They were given several of them by North Korea. But, having one and actually being able to DELIVER one halfway around the world are two VERY different things.
